An Anglo-Japanese Lounge Chair with EW Godwin Design Embossed Leather Sunflowers

About the Item

EW Godwin Design. Attr. An Anglo-Japanese armchair with slightly curved pagoda shaped arms and fine lattice detailing to the lower sides with uniting stretchers to the square legs on original brass and ceramic castors. We have had this armchair professionally re upholstered with embossed gilded leather sun flower heads replicating Godwins furniture he designed for Lord Limerick's Dromore Castle in Ireland in the early 1870's.
