Dinner set for 6 (12 pieces) Hand Painted Italian Faience Garofano Faenza
Located in London, GB
Hand painted dinner ware set with Garofano pattern (6 covers - 12 pieces: 6 soup bowls and 6 plates) hand-painted majolica from Faenza, Italy . Created and decorated entirely by hand by master craftsmen from Faenza, Italy. The set can be fully customised in terms of number of place settings and additional bespoke elements that can be added to complement the set: side dishes, serving plates, trays and many more. Faenza, located between the Adriatic Sea and Bologna, is known as the “City of Ceramics.” The term faience is a French version of the town’s name. Faience (majolica) production occurred in Faenza during the Middle Ages. In the 1500s, a week-long fair took place where local ceramic manufacturers set up stalls. Faenza majolica was highly regarded among the wealthy, many of whom commissioned ceramic mastesr to create pieces featuring heraldry, hunting, and mythological designs. During the Renaissance, Faenza became well known for its “beautiful lady” plates...

Chairs in Turned Oak Wood and Interwoven Rope. Spain 19th or Early
Located in Mombuey, Zamora
They are impressive. The most beautiful I have seen of their style The wood is perfect, with the color acquired over the years. Impressive pieces They are beautiful, like a work of art In perfect use conditions Wherever you put them, it is impossible for them not to stand out 19th Century or 18th Century Pair of Spanish chairs in turned oak wood and interwoven rope. Two pieces of simple workmanship, made of turned wood in the shape of an onion and with the seat and backrest woven in sisal rope Italian renacimiento revival, spanish colonial Spain, and specifically Castilla, was a great international power, also influencing the Decorative Arts of other distant places, such as the Mission style that emerged from the Spanish Missions settled throughout the American West Coast and which are the origin of the great Californian cities. Furniture with turned legs, legs and lyre, sober tables, chairs.  Bobbin Turned Pair of Spanish Chairs Wood and Interwoven Rope old pair of Spanish chairs. They are very old, perhaps many more years than I imagine, especially the part of the wood, the part of the rope, surely it was changed throughout its life, possibly in a not too distant time since they are perfect. Your condition is excellent. This type of rope interlacing is very typical in some areas of Spain, such as Castilla la Mancha, as are the enea or esparto seats. In this case, the interlocking design is very beautiful and unique and linked to the beauty of the wood turning, which in this chaos is especially harmonious and balanced and has a beautiful patina, which has left the passage of time and that together turns into a very unique and unusual pieces, so beautiful and in such good condition This style of Spanish or Castilian...

Rubboli Lustre Majolica Vase with Mythical Beasts Decor
Located in Clifton Springs, NY
Sculptural, large ceramic Neo-Renaissance Rubboli vase is finished in cobalt, red and gold lustre. Hand-painted decor follows the classical shape of the piece, with abstract pattern accentuated the base and the top of the vase, and traditional designs of mythical beasts surrounding central medallion motifs. The vase is a stunning, museum quality example of the revival of the magnificent Italian Renaissance decoration of the 16th century. Late 19th century collecting craze for Renaissance majolica, especially lusterware, prompted the Italian potters to hunt for the secret formulas that were lost four hundred years earlier. Studios owned by such ceramicists as Cantagalli, Molaroni, Rubboli, Santarella, and others attempted to duplicate antique lusterware pieces for the general public. Each studio developed their own closely guarded formulation. In 1870s Paolo Rubboli...

Plaster Polychrome Display Sculpture Bust Enchanting Woman
Located in BROOKLYN, NY
Possibly Beatrice, but likely a Grand Tour bust figure, painted plaster over wood. Marked 921 to verso. Barely a few losses to paint. Enchanting and remarkable bust of a young medieval woman. Grand Tour busts were popular souvenirs for wealthy Europeans, particularly British aristocrats, who traveled around Europe, especially Italy, from the 17th to the 19th centuries. These busts often depicted historical figures, mythological characters, or, as seen here, idealized figures in classical style. The provided search results and image descriptions suggest that this could be a 19th-century polychrome painted plaster cast bust...

Centerpiece "The Naiad", attributed to G. Denière, France, circa 1870
Located in PARIS, FR
Exceptional centerpiece in silvered and gilded bronze, composed of a naiad riding a dolphin, supporting a chiseled shell decorated with reeds, adorned with the head of a river god on its bow and on which a winged love blows in a conch. The whole rests on a pedestal decorated with dolphin heads and cut-out leathers, ending with a porphyry base with molded steps. Historical and artistic context Centers and naves of tables are attested in France from the Middle Ages in order to present spices and other condiments brought from distant lands around the Mediterranean or from the trade of the Silk Roads. The importance of their presence on prestigious tables will be confirmed throughout the decorative arts, evolving during the 19th century in centerpieces, becoming a central element of decoration. Here we find a true virtuosity in the composition and representation of the human figure which is reminiscent of the greatest artists of the Italian Renaissance. Indeed, the fluidity of the lines of the naiad can be compared to the nymph of Fontainebleau by Benvenuto Cellini preserved at the Louvre museum and dated 1545, while the naturalist representation of the marine setting refers to the work of Wenzel Jamnitzer...
