Pair Tommi Parzinger Solid Brass Candlesticks For Dorlyn Silversmiths
By Tommi Parzinger
Located in Doraville, GA

The candlesticks stand approximately 10 5/8 inches tall and the base is 5 1/2 inches at the top of the lip of the base. One candlesticks is embossed with the P*R Tommi Parzinger insignia. BIOGRAPHY OF DESIGNER Tommi Anton Parzinger (1903–1981) was a German interior designer; a lighting, accessories and furniture designer and an artist. Parzinger immigrated to New York City in 1932, his first job in America was as a designer for Rena Rosenthal, designing metalware and crystel to be sold at her trend setting Madison Avenue shop. In 1939 he opened Parzinger Originals, designing custom furnishings for clients and commissioned custom interiors. Parzinger's designs were labeled "high-style modernism", which represented a more idiosyncratic, rarefied midcentury design style. His cosmopolitan designs involved costly, craft-intensive materials and processes using brass accents and lacquer. As his business grew, Parzinger continued his work in graphic design, fashioning packaging, fabrics and wallpapers . He also continued to design furniture, lighting, and accessories for other companies, including Reed and Barton, Lightolier, Salterini Hofstatter, and Dorlyn. Vintage 1992 Mimi Di Niscemi Signed Golden Dachshund Belt Buckle with Brown Eyes
Located in Atlanta, GA
A gorgeous and oh so adorable dachshund makes for an ultra chic belt buckle by none other than famed Italian designer Mimi di N. You're not seeing double, I have two of these fabulous buckles listed separetely so please view my storefront for the other listing. Just think, you could have two little dachshund cutie pies! This buckle exudes cuteness with those sweet brown eyes set against a glistening golden hue. All that is needed is your favorite belt so you can wrap this little cutie around your waist. But who is Princess Mimi di Niscemi, you ask? Good question. I found a lovely biography on the iconic designer which I’ll share with you. From the Buy My Gold website, “Mimi is an internationally known designer of women’s costume jewelry and is also often referred to as, Princess Mimi di Niscemi. She studied at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Arts and simultaneously worked part-time for a jewelry manufacturer who produced Schiaparelli jewelry. Her skills led to work with Dutch silversmith Rudolph Broom at the Wichita Art Association. She won a scholarship to the School of Applied Arts in Paris. In the 1950s, Mimi became a partner with Arnold Scaasi and produced pieces marked, ‘Jewels by Scaasi.’ In 1959 she joined Robert DeMario, then moved to the New York based bead house, ‘Brania’ where she made jewels marked “Brania/Mimi di N.” She opened her own jewelry firm in 1960 in New York City and appears to have retired in 1995 and no longer designs jewelry. Her original pieces are marked Mimi di N. with a more block-style Mimi di N mark. Best known for her inspired, unusual belt buckles and strips, her jewelry is dramatic, bold and elaborate often in byzantine style using gold and silver plating, enamel, rhinestones, glass cabochons, and simulated pearls. Mimi’s costume jewelry and accessories appeared on the covers of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar in the 1960s and 70s. ‘Mimi di N’ belt buckles...

Fine Antique Onyx and Bronze Desk Ink Stand Pen Rest Faux Book and Blotter Set
Located in Atlanta, GA
A fine and antique onyx and bronze desk set featuring a sculpture of Rodin's Thinker done by Hungarian sculptor Andor Ruff. From the AskArt website, "Andor Ruff was born in 1885, in Taksony, Hungary. Ruff studied in Budapest and Brussels. After that, he lived and worked as a sculptor, landscape painter, and draftsman in Budapest. Andor Ruff passed away in 1951." The oval shaped, double, bronze mounted inkwell features the sculpture as well as a pen rest or vide poche. In addition to the inkwell, the set also includes an onyx and bronze blotter and an onyx and bronze box in the style of a book. The 'pages' are in bronze in a deckled style, the spine, also in bronze, features a 'leather' styling and the 'hard cover' of the book features a monogram in bronze. According to the Crystal Council website, "Green Onyx is associated with the planet Mercury, which is known to represent intelligence, elevated brain power, and enhanced memory. It is meant for anyone who wants to speak truth from the heart. This mineral opens up and actives the heart, in alignment to the brain, producing honesty and powerful realizations." Seems rather fitting for a desk set, wouldn't you agree? I can only imagine the beautiful and heartfelt letters you will pen thanks to this set. And the sculpture of Auguste Rodin's Thinker - well, that really sets the tone. The measurements listed are for the figural double inkwell...

Massive J.J. Kaendler, Meissen Schneeballen Porcelain Lidded Urn C. 1780
By Meissen Porcelain, J.J. Kaendler
Located in Atlanta, GA
The monumental J.J. Kaendler 1780’s Meissen Schneeballen porcelain lidded urn with bird mounts is an exquisite and rare piece of art that embodies the craftsmanship and beauty of the Meissen porcelain tradition. Standing tall and proud, this urn commands attention with its impressive size and intricate details. The urn is attributed to Johann Joachim Kaendler, a renowned master sculptor and modeler who worked at the Meissen factory during the 18th century. His skill and artistic vision are evident in every aspect of this stunning piece. The porcelain urn is adorned with the distinctive Schneeballen (snowball) motif, characterized by delicate porcelain flowers clustered together in the shape of a ball. Each flower is meticulously handcrafted and painted with great precision and attention to detail. The flowers create a mesmerizing visual effect, resembling a blooming snowball frozen in time. Each Schneeballen motif is accented by grenadiers of wild vines, vivid flowers and just absolutely stunning detail across every inch! Adding to the grandeur of this piece are the exquisite bird mounts that adorn the urn. These bird mounts, also made of porcelain, showcase the mastery of Meissen artisans in creating lifelike and realistic representations of nature. The birds are beautifully modeled, capturing their natural grace and elegance. Their vibrant colors and intricate feathers further enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the urn. The lid of the urn is equally impressive, featuring a finial in the form of a majestic bird in flight. The attention to detail is remarkable, as every feather is meticulously sculpted, giving the impression of movement and capturing the essence of freedom and grace. Standing at an impressive height, this monumental urn becomes a centerpiece wherever it is displayed. Its presence exudes elegance and sophistication, making it a true collector's item and a symbol of luxury. The urn's porcelain construction adds to its allure, as Meissen porcelain is known for its exceptional quality and durability. The smooth and flawless surface of the urn reflects the expertise of Meissen artisans in achieving a perfect finish. The delicate yet sturdy nature of the porcelain ensures that this exquisite piece will stand the test of time, preserving its beauty for generations to come. The color palette used in this urn is a testament to the refined taste and artistic sensibilities of the Meissen craftsmen. Soft pastel hues, vibrant floral tones, and richly detailed bird plumage all come together to create a harmonious and visually captivating composition. The careful application of color adds depth and dimension to the porcelain, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the urn. As a lidded urn, this piece not only serves as a decorative object but also has practical functionality. The lid not only protects the contents within but also adds an additional layer of elegance to the design. The seamless integration of the lid into the overall composition showcases the meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship of the Meissen artisans. The historical significance of this piece cannot be understated. Dating back to the 18th century, it represents a golden era of Meissen porcelain production and the continuation of the artistic traditions established by the Meissen factory in the 1700's. Its rarity and the skill required to create such a masterpiece make it a highly sought-after treasure for collectors and connoisseurs of fine porcelain. In conclusion, the monumental J.J. Kaendler Meissen Schneeballen porcelain lidded urn is a breathtaking work of art. Its impressive size, intricate Schneeballen motif, lifelike bird...
