An Italian occasional table with its original laca povera finish from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy retains its original "Lacca Povera" finish also known as laca povera, arte povera, lacca contrafatta, decalcomania, and perhaps more commonly, decoupage. This is the artistic technique of adorning a furniture surface with paper prints and lacquered layers which was perfected and made popular during the 17th and 18th century. This table has a rectangular-shaped top, a small drawer housed in the apron, and is raised on squared legs which taper gently towards their feet.
