An exceptional, fine and impressive set of three antique Georgian English sterling silver dinner plates/second course dishes, an addition to our range of collectable dining silverware. These exceptional antique George II sterling silver dinner plates/second course dishes has a circular shaped form. The raised border is embellished with an impressive bright cut engraved marital coat of arms incorporating the motto 'Tria juncta in uno', three joined in one. The rim of each antique second course dish is encircled with a Fine and impressive applied gadroon decorated border accented with alternating scrolling leaf designs. The circular well of each plate is plain and unembellished. The underside of each plate retains the silversmith's center punch mark in addition to the original item numbers 9, 10 and 12 and the original scratch weight of 32 troy ounces and 4 pennyweights (32.2 troy ounces), as to be expected the measured weight has subtly diminished in keeping with age to 29.9 troy ounces. Larger second course dishes such as these are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. These pieces are a segment of a more extensive table service incorporating dishes, trays and platters; through time the service will have been divided. An exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of vintage English cast sterling silver and enamel salt and pepper set, in the form of a soft boiled egg in an egg holder - boxed; an addition to our silver cruets or condiments collection. These exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver condiment set consists of a salt Shaker, a pepper Shaker and two spoons. The pieces of this silver and enamel salt and pepper set have been realistically modelled in the form of soft boiled eggs in egg cups. Each condiment Shaker is ornamented with an enamel eggshell design with the top portion 'cracked' away to reveal the pierced salt and pepper holes; the upper portion of the pepper retains the original gilding. The enamel and silver egg covers detach from a bayonet style fitment to a brown enamel decorated egg cup; once the cover is removed it can be determined the pieces were commissioned to be used as functional egg cups. The spoons have circular rounded bowls to plain waisted stems and terminate with cast finials encircled with scalloped borders and circular motifs, accented with initial 'M' to one and 'N' to the other. These vintage silver and enamel salt and pepper set are fitted to the original hinged crimson leatherette presentation box, with a velvet and satin lined interior and secures with two hinged catches. The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'arenski'. These exceptional examples of vintage silverware were made by the renowned artistic and imaginative silversmith Anthony Elson...

A fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver three piece tea service/set; part of our Victorian silver teaware collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver three piece tea set consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug / creamer. Each piece has an inverted pear shaped form on to a domed spreading foot. The upper portion of each piece is embellished with a broad band of bright cut engraved interlacing scroll and leaf decoration accented with stylised shell designs. The decoration to the body of each component incorporates two shaped, scroll decorated cartouches: one of which is vacant, the other displaying a bright cut engraved crest of a talbot*. The teapot is fitted with a hinged domed cover encircled with a band of bright cut engraved strapwork style decoration. The cover retains the original and impressive, hallmarked cast sterling silver stemmed floral finial. The fine teapot spout is ornamented with concave fluted decoration to the lower portion in addition to scrolling leaf designs extending up to the lip. The teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl are all fitted with impressive C scroll handles ornamented with acanthus leaf decorated thumbpieces.
