18th Century George III Sterling Silver Drum Mustard Pot

A exceptional antique 18th century English sterling silver drum mustard pot; an addition to our silver cruets / condiments collection. This exceptional antique George III sterling silver mustard pot has a plain drum form with applied borders to the upper rim. The body of this large antique Georgian silver mustard pot is plain and unembellished. This fine mustard pot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with a cast pierced decorated thumbpiece and handle. The surface of the cover is ornamented with a bright cut engraved crest and tooled decoration to the border. This mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner which features a groove matching that of the body. Condition This antique silver mustard pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all clear. The bright cut engraved crest to the cover has wear in keeping with age. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
