Monochromatic Carpet Shades of Green Meadw After Rain
Located in Firenze, IT
Monochromatic carpets are all the rage right now in interior design because they fit easily into any context. The specimen we present comes from an artisanal production in Afghanistan, hand-knotted with local wool using natural dyes. The non-uniformity of the color is due to the artisan method with which the wools are dyed, and it is precisely these irregularities that give life to the carpet by replacing the decoration and make it a vibrant carpet...

Tappeto classico gusto moderno con decoro mamluk color acquamarina e bordeaux
Located in Firenze, IT

Beginning 21st Century War Carpet Afghanistan € 800
Located in Firenze, IT
Traditionally carpets made by Afghan tribes included symbols often associated with life rather than death and war. However, since the Soviet invasion of 1979, some weavers have incorporated provocative images that were inspired by what the war brought to their territory. The events of the period of Taliban domination and the American Occupation fueled the imagination of weavers. Initially they were elements that mixed with traditional motifs and it was almost a game to discover a hand grenade or a war helicopter inserted in a traditional decorative context, but then with the increase of conflicts and tension, these elements have been more and more present and now there are real "war carpets" that describe the armaments of the forces in the field. War rugs...
