Sistema Solare Chandelier, Piattelli Design, Ivory-toned Onyx and Brass, 4-shade
By Silvio Piattelli, Arredoluce
Located in Tavarnelle val di Pesa, Florence
Luxury chandelier, made from thinly-cut pieces of exquisite ivory-toned translucent onyx. Ideal to be hung over a table, with versatile configurations. Ivory onyx comes from Middle Eastern quarries and has a unique veining. This translucent stone is carefully worked in Italy, and was chosen because of its combination of interesting patterns, high translucency, and the way it makes the light output look warmer. The 4-shade version is ideal to be hung over a round table. Our onyx supplier has worked in many high-end architectural projects, and these same materials have been used at the Armani hotel in Milan. When he was shown the chandelier designs, he rose to the challenge and adapted his tooling to make us perfect round discs. He worked hard to find exactly the right thickness that would keep the depth of the texture. It could not be too thick, otherwise it would lose transparency. And too thin, it would look like it was printed. The result is stunning. The combination of carefully-worked translucent stone and brass works perfectly, and the use of the ingenious Orbitale structure allows the geometry of the chandelier to be played with, and it can be configured in several ways. There is nothing else like this on the market. The Sistema collection uses a clever rotating stem structure and features a shallow drum-shaped shade at the end of each arm. The chandelier arms are designed with two lengths so that each can be staggered at different angles. They work well in any space and suit both regular and low-ceilinged rooms wonderfully. The chandelier arms are designed with two lengths so that each can be staggered at different angles. They work well in any space and suit both regular and low-ceilinged rooms wonderfully. Please see the drawing to get an idea of sizes for the different chandeliers. On the upper side of each disc there is a smaller opening to provide ambient light. Top-quality LEDs with over 80 CRI, meaning that the lighting does not alter the color of food and people. The LEDs are on a 24V direct current feed, so there is no flickering. The arms can be rotated 180 degrees to configure various combinations. As well as two rows of evenly-spaced lights over a dining table, a regular 8-shade star or 4-shade star (see photos) are possible, as well as creative sculptural shapes. The arms can be rotated even when the chandelier is lit. The shades can also be rotated on the arm axis to meet any lighting needs in a living room (paintings, bookshelves etc.). This listing shows the smallest drop. A change of drop is complimentary. Silvio Piattelli copyright and design. Specifications (Note: The Sistema chandelier has glass shades, while Sistema Solare...

Italian 17th Century Walnut Rustic Trestle Refectory Dining or Library Table
Located in Firenze, IT
This charming 17th Century massive scale rectangular refectory table, dating back to Baroque period, is a magnificent example of Tuscan rustic craftsmanship. The top consists of four large solid warm brow walnut planks capped on either end with matching pieces of walnut wood slabs. The 3 meters long and 1 meter wide tabletop rests on a trestle base composed of six massive turned baluster legs joined by a simple molded stretcher running the distance on either side making the seat even more comfortable. The simple and clean line of the top is wonderfully harmonized by the roundness of the legs, all with exceptional wood grain and texture and rich, warm great original patina throughout. In typical Tuscan fashion, this farm table is long and narrow, featuring a very rustic but clever construction: two wooden pegs and thick joints on each side allow the top to easily separate from the base for easy transportation. This is "The Table" solid and sturdy a wonderful and warm piece, rich in history and rare. The four plank cleated detachable top is of superb color and figuring. This versatile antique refectory table can be used as a hall, dining or serving table. It has character and is simply stunning from every angle making a fabulous statement in any room both in your countryside home or in the most elegant setting. A number of early solid walnut pieces which we have sold have harmonized very well with modern interiors. Any kind of dinner service will be enhanced by the sobriety of this table that will stand up to no end of use. This rustic and lasting table can be free-standing or would be perfect also leaned on the wall as a huge console...

Sistema Chandelier by Piattelli Design, 4-shade
By Bruno Gatta, Stilnovo, Silvio Piattelli
Located in Tavarnelle val di Pesa, Florence
This chandelier uses an ingenious rotating stem structure and features a shallow drum-shaped shade at the end of each arm. They work well in any space and suit both regular and low-ceilinged rooms wonderfully. The result is uniform lighting from above the dining table. There is nothing else like this on the market. There are beautiful chandeliers available, but they always tend to give out too much light in the center and too little on either side. This is the smallest Sistema chandelier, with 2 arms and 4 shades. Ideal for a round or square dining table. It also works well over an island. Each shade has two LED strips that can be lit separately. In this way you can have either a regular light or a stronger light depending on how you need to use the chandelier. The LEDs are top quality with a CRI of over 80. This ensures that the natural color of food and people can be seen perfectly. See the next to last photo, where there is some fruit and a color chart below the chandelier. The LEDs are on a 24V direct current feed, so there is no flickering. The arms can rotate 180 degrees, for many possible combinations. See the drawing for the two regular positions. The chandelier can also be rotated when it is lit. The shades can be rotated on the arm axis to meet any lighting needs in a living room (paintings, bookshelves etc.). The shades have neutral white glass fixtures. Please see the photos. On the back there is a smaller Lucite opening for giving ambient light. The chandelier has the ingenious brass finishes of the orbitale collection. This listing shows measurements for a dining table and the smallest drop. A change of drop is complimentary. Please see the last image for all sizes and ask for high resolution technical drawings if you need them. Please see the drawing to get an idea of sizes for the different chandeliers. Sistema Solare, Luxury Ivory Onyx and Brass 8 Rotating Orbitale Arms Chandelier
By Silvio Piattelli, Bruno Gatta, Stilnovo

This translucent stone is carefully worked in Italy, and was chosen because of its combination of interesting patterns, high translucency, and the way it makes the light output look warmer. The 8-shade version is ideal to be hung over a long rectangular table. See schematics. Our onyx supplier has worked in many high-end architectural projects, and these same materials have been used at the Armani hotel in Milan. On the backplate and the middle you have a dented joint for reaching any point. On the heads there is a turning and 90 degrees up and down to keep the shades vertical and aiming every position. Natural solid patinated brass. Aluminum shades dust sprayed lacquered in ivory and hand gilted by a local artisan in the Siena area. Pivoting heads helps with the light distribution in the room. Upper shades contribute to the ambiance light and lower shades for the direct light. Ideal side to fireplace so that the arm can reach a reading sofa...

Opinion Ciatti Tab.u Small Stool
By Opinion Ciatti, Bruno Rainaldi
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Take a wooden frame, cover it in aluminium and then work its surface, ""scrunch” it by hand to achieve a crimpled profile. This is the process at the core of the Tab.u Collection, stools and tables with absolutely distinctive lines. The low Tab.u stool, the firstborn in the family, is a really versatile object. It is perfect in any environment and for all uses: around the table for an unexpected guest, in the bathroom to rest objects or towels, in the living room when there is no more room on the sofa or in the bedroom instead of the usual bedside table. Its elder brother, Big Tab.u is a traditional tall bar stool. It is stunning around a counter or a kitchen island, both at home or in the most glamorous clubs. The family is complete with the addition of the Tab.u Mirror and the Tab.u Lamp...
