Born in Stuttgart, Germany, André Rau has always had a strong inclination towards the visual arts from young age. From Germany, André moved to Paris and begun his formal training in photography assisting Peter Lindbergh. With a remarkable path, today André is acknowledged as among the most established beauty and fashion photographers of our time. Diverse and inspiring, his imagery covers a variety of impressive material. However, André is internationaly renowned for his insightful and powerful celebrity portraits. André continues to live in Paris, but travels extensively to capture such legendary icons as Meryl Streep, Catherine Deneuve, Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt or George Clooney. In addition to shooting numerous memorable covers for such international publications as Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ or Elle André has also contributed to the album covers of Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Patricia Kaas or Johnny Hallyday among others.
