In 1992 she enrolled in classes at FIT with an eye toward expanding her knowledge of metal, and, from this point onward, was hooked. Later that same year, she landed an apprenticeship with the jeweler Gregg Wolf. Werner soon became his assistant, a position she would hold for the next two years while establishing her own practice.

In 1918, the Gumbels relocated to Heilbronn where David worked as an apprentice in the "Bruckmann & Sons" factory, becoming a certified steel engraver.
In the late 1920s, Gumbel studied to be a silversmith at the school of applied arts in Berlin at the Kunstgewerbeschule. Intricately inlaid gemstones form a striking geometrical central pattern, flanked by a pair of faceted bezel set amethysts on each side of the sterling silver shoulders. Entirely hand crafted. Aldrich Art is based in the mountains of Colorado and have been creating Southwestern style jewelry since the 1970's.
