This week, Pinterest users must be feeling reflective: pier mirrors are some of the most-pinned items from 1stdibs. If you’re not familiar with the term, pier mirrors are long, tall pieces that nestle into the wall space (aka a pier) between two windows.
Pier mirrors were extremely popular design elements in the grand, ornate rooms of noble 18th century European homes. But as evidenced above, they also look great in a more streamlined, modern context. Some of our favorite pieces boast intricate carvings or gilded frames, but all pier mirrors can accomplish the visual trickery necessary to make any room appear larger and lighter than it is.
