Shopping With Robert Stilin

Notice that we’ve rearranged things a bit this weekend? As a supplement to our traditional Shopping With feature, we asked interior designer Robert Stilin to take a closer look at eight 1stdibs items and share why they rank among his favorites — and how you might use them in your home. Read on for more and then let us know what you think of the new format in the comments section, below. Happy shopping!

With offices in both New York and the Hamptons, interior designer Robert Stilin is known for his ability to add relaxed seaside ease to architecturally rigorous spaces. Named as one of Elle Decor’s A-List designers, Stilin creates bright, inviting and thoroughly livable environments. He’s a member of the Director’s Council at the Whitney Museum, so it’s no surprise that he has a deft touch when it comes to mixing modern art with vintage furniture. Also a 1stdibs dealer, Stilin maintains a storefront stocked with antique and restored pieces that reflect his self-described “contemporary comfort” aesthetic. This week, we asked the designer to not only shop 1stdibs, but also elaborate on his eight favorite pieces.
