For each piece, the artist hand-selects several stand-alone stoneware elements of different shapes, sizes and forms before assembling them into a single textural column. Customized for height in ivory, Egyptian-blue or cast-iron black, each totem is combined with gilded accents to produce a one-of-a-kind composition. Erratic J with 18ct Green Gold, amorphic optical glass artwork by Anthony Scala
Located in London, GB
'Erratic J with 18ct Green Gold' is a handblown and cut glass sculpture created by the British artist, Anthony Scala. The geological term 'erratic' refers to a stone or boulder that differs to its surrounding rock, that is believed to have been displaced and deposited by glacier movement. Differing from his Auri collection, Scala's aim was to produce a series of sculptures that are freer, amorphous and suggestive of movement. Striking in the singular, these really capture this concept en masse. With a career in glass now spanning over 20 years, Scala creates art works that can only be described as acts of precision. As equally beautiful as they are meticulously created and despite being a hugely skilled glass blower, it is with cold working that Scala excels. Initially qualified as an architectural model maker, it was during this time that Scala learnt many disciplines that would be equally relevant to and ultimately inform his practice today. His passion for glass was discovered however during an apprenticeship with Peter Layton at his studio at London Glassblowing. The beginning of a long standing association for him with this acclaimed studio. In 2005 at the age of 27, Scala won the prestigious 'Glass Sellers Award' (other recipients have included Alison Kinnard, Colin Reid, Richard Jackson...

18th Century Italian Angels with Tangerine Quartz Crystals Mounted on Aragonite
Located in Dublin, Dalkey
Pair of 18th century Italian hand-carved gold leaf angels with tangerine quartz crystals and mounted on aragonite. The hand-carved angels were once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historic church in Tuscany. The angel arms and feet are adorned with the tangerine quartz crystals to restore the broken aspects of the figurative pair. They appear partially crystalized in form. The aragonite is from Morocco and has many different formations. This one in particular emulates a cloud which is compliments the 18th century Italian gilded angels. The piece is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she created the piece and the period shows that the pair of Italian angels...

17th Spanish Sculpture in Carved Silver Gild Wood Saint Michel, Castilia
Located in Valladolid, ES
One of a kind Baroque Spanish St Michel sculpture. A museum piece !! The artistic imprint shows the typical Castilian traces in the conception and interpretation of the subject. This allows us to frame the attribution to a close circle of the stela left by Gregorio Fernández (1576-1636) in the very recognized Castilian circle. The artist responsible for the creation of this magnificent carving has undoubtedly been trained in the footsteps of Fernández in the Castilian Baroque context. He powerfully remembers the Archangel San Miguel preserved in the reliquary of the Church of San Miguel de Valladolid; belonging to the first third of the seventeenth century. Both carvings show great parallels in the spatial conception, in the configuration of the cloths...
