Jean-Pierre De Neef came to photography like a new convert to religion, convinced that it would lend meaning to his life. His path took him first to a photographic laboratory, having once been a Cibachrome expert, regularly visited by French art photographers who made their way to Brussels to consult him.
Well-versed in modern high performance techniques, nowadays Jean-Pierre De Neef produces art photos for several internationally known photographers whose works can be found in galleries and fairs the world over.
Twelve years ago Jean-Pierre De Neef’s encounter with François Bayle, art critic and curator of the works of various photographers for Brussels Art Edition, enabled him to pursue his passion in new fields. He was at the side of the Italian photographer Fabrizio La Torre (Rome 1921, Brussels 2014) in the last few years of his life, who entrusted him with detailed instructions for digitising his archives and explained to him the results he was seeking.
Jean-Pierre De Neef with his refined technical skills, and François Bayle with his creativity made up a team which was perfectly equipped to stage a number of well-received exhibitions of the work of Fabrizo La Torre - Museum of Ixelles (Brussels 2011), Principality of Monaco, an excellent Retrospective,(2014) and Bangkok (2019), which involved the presentation of the photos taken in Thailand between 1956 to 1961.

Laurent Chéhere, a French photographer born in 1972 in Paris, makes images of flying houses and other dwellings that are informed by his wanderings in the hidden neighborhoods of Paris and by his love of cinematic history. Most of his photographs carry references of forgotten stories, Parisian neighborhood and architecture and pay a tribute to classic movies, such as "The Red balloon" or “Who are you Polly Magoo” to name just a few. The charming manipulated images, part digital, part analog depict a dreamlike world where his reconstructed houses appear to float in the sky. This photograph is taken with a large format camera, capturing immense detail in the verdant green landscape and what remains of The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram's stone huts which have been overtaken by the jungle. These meditation huts are located north of the Indian city of Rishikesh- this is the site of the Beatles Ashram, also known as Chaurasi Kutia. The collaborative artist team of Sasha Bezzubov and Jessica Sucher worked on this project, "The Searchers" and captured this stunning photograph prior to the location being reopened to the public.
The Searchers is a series of large-scale photographs examining Western spiritual tourism in India. Bezzubov and Sucher investigate the magnetic pull of India’s rich religious history and the utopian communities that cater to Western seekers. While exploring yoga centers, meditation retreats and ashrams, the artists straddle the line between observers and participants. The project results in distinct groupings: spatially astounding interiors, bizarre landscapes, and portraits of those who simultaneously appear both lost and found. The connecting thread is the visual strangeness and cultural collisions inherent in this phenomenon. This series includes photographs taken at the Osho Meditation Resort in Pune and the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram in Nayyar Dam, Kerala.
With The Searchers, the artists build on themes explored in their previous bodies of work, specifically Expats and Natives (Bezzubov and Sucher) and The Gringo Project (Bezzubov). These previous projects center around young Western travelers...
