David Webb has long been associated with animal motifs, representative of the playfulness of the jeweler’s creations. So, it’s only natural that The White Lotus’s costume design department would turn to the brand when seeking animal-themed jewelry for the Thailand-set third season.

Each of the HBO show’s seasons has its own recurring symbols, and snakes are a prominent one this season. In a pivotal scene, a character takes a close look at a snake choker before her shopping spree is disrupted by a robbery. The piece was custom-created for the show by David Webb, which modified an existing snake bracelet to create the necklace specified by the costume department, according to an interview in Town and Country with Levi Higgs, the firm’s head of archives and brand heritage.

A David Webb jewel inspired by a slightly less menacing member of the animal kingdom has also appeared this season. In the first episode, Kate (Leslie Bibb) wears an elephant-shaped cuff by the house while at dinner with Laurie (Carrie Coon) and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan). Keep your eyes peeled for more David Webb creations this season—we wouldn’t be surprised if one of his monkey brooches popped up on-screen.
