Vogue recently reported on the wave of celebrities opting for massive diamond engagement rings. Of course, big diamonds have been star favorites since the days of Old Hollywood. What we’re interested in is how the shapes and stones sported by current celebs have trickled down to other brides. Oval diamonds like those featured in Winnie Harlow‘s and Elsa Hosk’s rings have been popular for some time (Hailey Bieber and Simone Biles also have oval-cut engagement rings). Head to any design fair or opening, and you’re more than likely to see someone in one of Issey Miyake’s Pleats Please rippled, wrinkle-proof garments. According to Elle Decor, Miyake’s Bao Bao bag is set for a similar ascendancy, propelled by the opening in New York City of the first-ever standalone Bao Bao Issey Miyake store outside Asia. “It’s essentially a piece of wearable art,” designer Leah Ring, of interior design studio Another Human, told Elle Decor, describing the bag. “I can be wearing jeans and a T-shirt, and the Bao Bao plus a nice piece of jewelry makes me feel put together and interesting.”

The secondary market for timepieces has been heating up, according to Robb Report. The publication cites research by EveryWatch, which tracks preowned-watch sales, indicating that the total value of secondary sales grew more than 30 percent in June. The data also show that the three most in-demand brands are Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. No surprise there!
