Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have made their engagement Instagram official. Their big reveal comes on the heels of Swift announcing her next album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights. The couple, who have dated for two years, shared their most recent news in a joint Instagram post featuring five photos. Taken in a lush garden filled with flowers, the images make it abundantly clear that Kelce completely understands Swift’s romantic sensibility. And it seems he understands her taste in jewelry, too. While any hidden meanings Swift’s engagement ring may hold remain a mystery, People tells us that Kelce designed it with Kindred Lubeck, of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The ring appears to be an engraved yellow-gold band set with a large old-mine-cut stone (in the 10 carat range).
Swift is know for her understated yet feminine style, apparent in her jewelry as well as her clothes. Still, she’s been known to drop an easter egg or two with her bling. In a recent Substack post, jewelry writer Marion Fasel called out her coin necklaces as a likely reference to Elizabeth Taylor, who Swift named a song on her next album after. Musing about engagement ring possibilities, Fasel recently wrote, “I do not think it will be ginormous. I predict it will be something reasonably sized that she feels comfortable wearing all the time.”
On the day of the engagement, Swift sported a yellow-gold Cartier Santos Demoiselle watch — a discontinued style that is available on 1stDibs — set with diamonds in the bezel and lugs. The halter-style striped dress she wore was a Ralph Lauren, a design that, unsurprisingly, is now sold out.
