Art Nouveau rare fire polished bellied vase by Gallé Manufactory: Émile Gallé / France, Nancy, Lorraine, made circa 1890 Technique of manufacture: Fire polished glass & etched (built up with different glass layers) Stunningly manufactured casing glass (cream white & green shaded glass layers underneath) with superb etched and cut ornaments: Vase’s surface is abundantly decorated with greyish blossoms of morning glory attached to stems with large leaves, all of them 'growing out' from vase's top area and running around (= gorgeous pattern!). This bellied vase has very short stalk of conical form type / quite wide mouth with smooth edge existing. The glass body is attached to round foot. It is a stunning work by Gallé, of grand scale and superior craftsmanship, indeed! Signature: Gallé Etched Signature, deriving from period of 1890, existing at area below. Related signature is published by Carolus Hartmann, Glasmarken-Lexikon 1600-1945, Stuttgart/Germany 1997, page 169, signature number 3502.. Size: Height 25.5 cm (= 10.03 inches) Diameter of vase's mouth 11.0 cm (= 4.33 inches) Diameter of vase's foot 10.0 cm (= 3.93 inches) Diameter of vase's wall 15.0 cm (= 5.90 inches) Condition: Very good / there aren't any damages existing!

Bulbous shoulder vase on a flush stand, short neck piece with silver mount as a ring in a smooth, slightly flared design, on the outside opposite two fully sculptural branch and cone bundles, colourless glass with white powder meltings, overlay in blue-violet and green, meadow flower decoration etched in various stages, matt etched inside and outside. Cameo signature 'Gallé' with star on the wall between the plants. Silver mount hallmarked 'Minerve casquée' for 950 silver, France, and master's mark. Hand-made Cameo Glass: Glass overlaid with several layers, with high-cut worked out motifs. Since the middle of the 19th century, the design has also been done by etching.
