Rare Loetz Phaenomen Vase Crete with rare decor c1898

About the Item

A stunning and rare undocumented Loetz Phaenomen vase. Waisted and with a flared foot with four crimps to the top. It is also decorated in raised gold enamelling (a profusion of 3 lobed leaves on branches). it has the all important but slightly indistinct Decor code I 255 (the last two digits are hard to read) -A similar vase in the same finish is documented with a sister decoration that is marked I 254. Loetz was, and still is, probably the most famous and most collected of the great Bohemian glass makers. The most sought after examples of the Phaenomen range -as this example is -as well as being the finest pieces they were made in exceptionally small quantities with rarely more than 30 examples being made of a particular model.
