This colorful Majolica pitcher was sculpted in Saint Clement, France, circa 1890; named "Le Canard Sortant de l'Oeuf", the charming ceramic olive oil jug with spout thru the mouth and top cork, is in the shape of a colorful young duck exiting an egg shell. The oil recipient is hand painted with a small duckling chasing a butterfly. The jug, stamped on the bottom "Saint Clement France", is in excellent condition with rich patinated colors in the blue, green and yellow palette. Pictured in the book "Les Barbotine" by Maryse Bottero page 41. See last two pictures.

This exceptional antique sterling silver cream jug has an baluster shaped form onto a domed pedestal and an octagonal shaped spreading foot.
The body of this silver cream jug is embellished with embossed floral ornamentation accented with scrolling leaf designs and panels of scale textures.
The decoration to the body incorporates a scroll bordered and features a vacant cartouche to one side.
The lower portion of the body encompassed with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Presented by the South Devon Agricultural Society to Richard Anthony for the best managed Farm under 150 acres'.
The rim of this 1830s cream jug is embellished with an applied alternating shell decorated border.
This fine example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive cast antique mystical fish decorated handle ornamented with scale decoration.
The domed circular portion of the foot is encircled with a band of floral and scrolling leaf decoration.
The interior of this antique silver cream jug retains the original gilding.
Condition
This antique 1830s cream jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
The applied and chased decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the spout have wear in keeping with age and location; the maker’s mark has wear but remains legible.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
