About the Item

Extremely decorative, fully sculpted representation of a naked young beauty with her hair tied back, covering her nakedness after her bath with a softly draped cloth, which she holds with one hand at her left hip together with a bathing shoe, while she slips into the second shoe with her upper body leaning to the right, with her right leg resting on an ivy-covered stone pedestal. The figure stands on a round, stepped and grooved pedestal with relief decoration, a gold-painted wave frieze and gold edges. Modeller: ROBERT OCKELMANN (1849 - 1915) German sculptor, student of Eduard August Lürssen at the Academy in Berlin and master student of Johannes Schilling at the Academy in Dresden. The Meissen manufactory acquired several models, genre figures and nude figures until 1903.
