The Limes bed maintains the intelligent functionality that characterises the sofa line but has been adapted for a different interior area and function. The lightweight mobile island appears to be floating on its 14 cm rectangular transparent legs. It can become something else by simply adjusting the position of the two metal headboards that can be placed anywhere along mattress’s entire perimeter.
Born in 1953 he left formal education and began, almost by chance, his experience in the field of the padded furniture. Fascinated by the world that surrounded him, he eagerly devoted himself to researching building forms and techniques which have borne fruit for the companies in which he worked. In 1991 he opened his studio as an independent designer and in 1993 he came across Saba Italia. New challenges and new incentives lead to the creation of the “nomad sofa”: Taos, Ananta, Limes, Nesting, Pixel. Creations that were born from reflection of new desires that encourage us to live in a less formal way, equipped with systems that enable change with simple gestures, by playing with shapes.
Structure: It includes the bed base with wooden slats. Bedframe is in wood padded with polyurethane foam clothed with velfodera coupled to polyester fiber 150gr/sqm. The headboard supports are in metal with chromed finish. Optionally they can be clothed in quilted fabric padded with polyester fiber or can be clothed with bands of fabric coupled with pressed 300gr/sqm.
Feet: 14 cm high, in transparent methacrylate with rectangular section.

Coiled springs didn’t make their way into mattresses until the 1800s, which likely made for a far more comfortable night’s sleep for many. Later, the 20th century brought with it marvelous innovations for slumberland, among them daybeds from the likes of George Nelson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich as well as convertible sofa beds.
