About the Item

Six « CM145 » model chairs by Pierre Paulin for Meubles TV. Created in 1954, original edition (not a recent Ligne Roset reissue). Wooden structure covered with upholstery fabric, embossed velvet with blue geometric motifs on a light gray background, black lacquered steel legs. In very good vintage condition, foam and fabric entirely refurbished by a specialized upholsterer, a few minor traces of use and age, patina, on the legs left as is. Superb overall appearance. Bibliography: – Revue la Maison Française, 1956, n°95, pages 57 and 58. Biography Pierre Paulin, born in Paris on July 9, 1927 and died in Montpellier on June 13, 2009, was a French designer. His talent lies in his shift from decoration to design, which was typical of the post-war period in France, and in the materials used to make his chairs. These are upholstered in foam and often covered in jersey. He is one of the greatest designers of his time, and the subject of numerous books and retrospectives.
