About the Item

Artifort Model F437, or more famously nicknamed the Orange Slice Chair, was designed by French designer Pierre Paulin for the Dutch manufacturer Artifort in Maastricht in the mid 20th century after he became acquainted with the technique of bending plywood. He designed a wide variety of longe chairs with a very organic and pop-art appearance. The Orange Slice is one of the true icons of that collaboration and after that design Pierre Paulin became a true star on the French and international design scene. This example dates from the 1990's and was placed in a private library where it has been very sparingly used, it still has the original red colored wool fabric in a clean and very good condition with hardly any kind of wear.
