About the Item

First designed by brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni designed in 1957, Mezzadro was put into production by Zanotta in 1970 for the exhibition “Shapes and colours in today’s homes” organised in Villa Olmo in Como. Bringing to mind the bright colours of pop art, and the combination of craft-based and industrial components utilised by Duchamp, Mezzadro is as much a functional piece as it is a sculpture. It aims to redefine the domestic environment through bold shapes, materials and colours.
