Art Deco Book-Matched Walnut Bookshelves, Gilbert Rohde with Aluminium Supports

About

This elegant Art Deco skyscraper style piece by Gilbert Rohde features book-matched Acacia shelves circumscribed by walnut on the perimeter with brushed aluminium rods supporting the structure. It represents an important (not to mention stunning) example of Art Deco furniture at its finest example by one of design's most illustrious names, Gilbert Rohde. Furthermore, from a historical standpoint, these bookshelves beautifully illustrate the bridge between Art Deco and Mid-Century Modernist design with their sleek Silhouette and stepped style scraper base. They are austere, modern, and wonderfully illustrate the inherent beauty of the materials. Mint restored condition. American, circa 1940 Dimensions: 15" D x 29" H x 53" W.
