About the Item

Franco Albini remains a pivotal figure in 20th-century Italian design. Together with Franca Helg, he created a body of work that blends clarity with precision. Their long-standing collaboration with Poggi produced some of the most refined and forward-thinking furniture of the era. Design The CR20 serving trolley is a strong example of that philosophy. Designed for Poggi, it reimagines a traditional household object through modern lines and functional elegance. The structure consists of two mahogany trays that appear to float between three vertical supports. A subtle rhythm is created by the cylinder-shaped handles which top each post. The trays feature dovetail joints, showcasing the level of craftsmanship embedded in this piece. Small cut-out grips on both tiers make lifting easy, while the castors offer smooth mobility. Each detail supports the object’s function without drawing too much attention to itself. Even now, the CR20 fits effortlessly into contemporary spaces, echoing the kind of refinement that Albini and Helg consistently brought to their designs. The trolley’s balanced proportions and absence of ornament keep it fresh, even decades later. This piece is more than a decorative gesture—it performs its role quietly but with purpose. And it does so with a language of restraint that still resonates. Condition The trolley is in good condition; it's finish and integrity are preserved, with light signs of age left intentionally to respect its history. The item remains fully functional, with clean movement and sound structure.

Free-hanging Console or Desk In Walnut, Italy 1960's
Located in Hellouw, NL
A refined sharpness combined with elegance are the first things that come to mind when describing this Italian free-hanging console completely veneered in walnut. The contours and clean lines are reminiscent of the designs of Ico Parisi. Design At first the lines seem straight, but if we look closely at the raised beam or edge, we see that it actually consists of a pyramid shape. In this case, this geometric shape ensures a soft transition from the top to the wall. Because the side panels also slope towards the rear, the ensemble of lines is complete and feels harmonious.Viewed along the length, the console is slim and this also creates a kind of dynamism or speed. On the left side there are two drawers with handles, subtly placed. On the right side of these drawers, a space has been left free where a narrow chair...
