This fine and impressive vintage brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold with an 18k white gold setting.
The brooch has been modelled in the form of a winged insect.
The insect's wings are composed of yellow gold frames accented with a spectrum of impressive plique-à-jour* panels.
The creature's rounded thorax is further ornamented with red plique-a-jour panels.
The insect's abdomen is embellished with an impressive 18k white gold setting accented with thirteen eight cut diamonds.
The head features an impressive three-claw set 0.60ct pear faceted blue sapphire, replicating the insect's eye.
This exceptional brooch is further embellished with yellow gold anatomical features, including three visible legs and two antennae.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp.
This stunning insect brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 karat gold.
The brooch is supplied with an independent diamond and gemstone grading report card.
NOTE: * Plique-à-jour is a vitreous enamelling technique similar in technical execution to cloisonné, where the enamel is applied to defined 'cells' within a metal filigree. With plique-à-jour, there is no backing to the design, allowing light to pass through the enamelwork, suggestive of stained glass. A stunning, fine and impressive antique 2.26 carat smoky quartz, 3.95 carat amethyst, pearl and citrine, 18 karat and 12 karat yellow gold brooch in the form of a pansy; part of our diverse antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections.
This stunning, fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with a 12k yellow gold setting.
The pierced decorated two-toned gold frame has been modelled in the form of a stylised stemmed pansy, accented with two leaves.
The center of the pansy is ornamented with an impressive seed pearl, encircled by five yellow gold petals with textured decoration.
The central design is encircled by five larger irregularly shaped petals, each featuring an impressive gemstone; two pear faceted amethysts, two oval faceted smoky quartz and one impressive 3.01Ct pear faceted citrine.
The border of each petal is further embellished with millegrain decoration and accented with gold ball motifs.
The 18k gold stem and leaves are ornamented with fine textured decoration, replicating the organic features.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a 12k gold hinged pin and safety clasp.
This gemstone and gold pansy brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 karat gold and 12 karat gold.
This impressive example of antique jewellery is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

All bodies of the animals are presented with a large cut rhinestone. Worked om sterling silver. They date from the early 1940s USA. Very raare collector pieces, you can nearly no more find.
