These truly are a very rare suite, it's hard to find one of these chairs from this era let alone four, they have all been restored to include having the leather washed back, they’ve then been hand dyed six times, lightly antiqued, sealed then finally waxed down and polished. They are the only suite in the entire world in this exact colour and look a million dollars.
They are also super comfortable hence they have stood the test of time and become a true icon. These have countless credits to their name, they have been exhibition in the metropolitan museum of art, the V&A, they have won awards, anyone who is a fine furniture connoisseur will recognize them straight away
Condition wise, they have been restored as mentioned, the idea being to keep all the original patina which shows the age and wear, but giving them a one off colour

Provenance, we had a matching folding table with a label featuring Galeries Lafayette, and these chairs were from the matching set.
The Galeries Lafayette is an upmarket French department store chain, the biggest in Europe. Its flagship store is on Boulevard Haussmann in the 9th arrondissement of Paris but it now operates in a number of other locations in France and other countries. In 2019, Galeries Lafayette recorded earnings of over five billion euros. It is a part of the company Groupe Galeries Lafayette and has been a member of the International Association of department stores since 1960.
In 1894, Théophile Bader and his cousin Alphonse Kahn opened a fashion store in a small haberdasher's shop at the corner of rue La Fayette and the Chaussée d'Antin, in Paris. In 1896, their company purchased the entire building at 1 rue La Fayette; in 1905 they acquired the buildings at 38, 40 and 42 boulevard Haussmann and 15 rue de la Chaussée d'Antin. Bader commissioned the architect Georges Chedanne and his pupil Ferdinand Chanut to design the store at the Haussmann location, where a glass and steel dome and Art Nouveau staircases...
