Abstract Procession Jewish Wedding Chuppah Oil Painting Modernist Judaica
By Sabina Teichman
Located in Surfside, FL
Genre: Modern Subject: Abstract Medium: Oil Surface: Canvas Country: United States Sabina Teichman: (1905-1983) Studied at Columbia Univ. (BA, MA), also with Charles J. Martin and Arthur J. Young. Exhibits include WMAA, Art USA, 1958, PAAM, Butler Institute Amer. Art, Audubon Artists Ann., Womens Westchester Center. Sabina Teichman's paintings have a touch of fauvist vitality and responsiveness and color. Her Lyrical Paintings convey the great joy of life which is hers. the joy is so profound that it cannot be obtained in traditional art forms and so it has become necessary for Sabina to create new forms to express the euphoria. As the dynamic colors emerge from her luxuriously coated brush, she surrenders to a newly realized adventure in abstract expressionism. A boldness belies he femininity which yields an exciting style and a joyful freshness. Sabina Teichman illuminates the canvas with strokes of color that affect the very soul of the viewer , for she feels that color inspires the inner being of man. Her response to color elation. Dynamic colors emerge from the luxuriously coated brush of this artist, surrendering to her newly realized adventure in abstract impressionism. A boldness belies her femininity which yields an exciting style and a joyful freshness. Sabina Teichman illuminates the canvas with strokes of color that affect the very soul of the viewer, for she knows as did Goethe, that color inspires the inner being of man. Sabina Teichman's own response to color is elation. Widely known as a figurative painter, one reviews her earlier style only to find that all shapes lived within the surrounding of abstract settings which now dominate her most recent paintings. The Vatican Museum's collection of contemporary art has acquired Sabina Teichman's painting The Prophet given in response to an expressed desire of a representative of Pope Paul VI, who said that, to the best of his knowledge, it was the first painting by a living American to become part of the Vatican. large Russian GLASNOST Moscow, Post Soviet Avant Garde Painting George Pusenkoff
By George Pusenkoff
Located in Surfside, FL
GEORGE PUSENKOFF (RUSSIAN Born 1953), "New Life" 1988, mixed media (paint, ribbon, Metallic foil) on canvas, 160 x 200 cm (63 x 78 3/4 in.), signed and titled verso in Cyrillic, and dated on verso, George Pusenkoff, Russian painter and installation artist, spent most of his formative years in Moscow. In his early career, Puskenoff worked predominantly with acrylic, rendering vibrant forms at various stages of abstraction, though he gave them titles that anchored them in specific narrative contexts, often referencing historical (and art-historical) subject matter, as in Kidnapping of Europe (1988) and Bronzino, Ciccolina and Yves Klein (1992). Pusenkoff painted his first digital border in 1996, simulating the 8bit look of the first computerized windows. He continued to experiment with the visual language of the computer screen, at times using just the browser window bar as an abstracted geometrical form. He invokes famous icons of modern art such as Kazimir Malevich’s Black Square, Josef Albers’ Homage to the Square or Piet Mondrian’s reduced geometric paintings and transfers them into a new aesthetic. In 1996, Pusenkoff painted his version of Andy Warhol’s take on the iconic Renaissance Da Vinci...

HAND, Pop Art New Years Greeting
By Eli Content
Located in Surfside, FL
Genre: Modern Subject: Abstract Medium: Mixed Media, Airbrush Surface: Paper Country: Netherlands Dimensions w/Frame: 13 1/4" x 30" Eli Content (born in Switzerland 1943) followed in 1974/1975 the education at the Ateliers '63 in Haarlem and received in 1981 his first solo exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Late eighties he exhibited at the Jewish Museum in New York. From 1982 to 2005 he taught painting At the Christian Academy in Kampen. In 1989, he first exhibited in the Joods Historische Museum. There he made one Impressive Sukkah cabin consisting of seven panels painted on both sides. His work is in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Jewish Historical Museum and the Akzo Nobel Art Foundation. For the New Jewish Museum of Jewish History Museum recently made three major stained glass pieces with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life with the Ten Sefirot. In the mid-seventies Eli Content (Vevey, Switzerland, 1943) made his debut with extremely severe-looking, minimalistic paintings. At the same time he also made much looser cut outs with Matisse-like ornaments. This freedom he has always granted himself. He cannot and will not deprive himself nor the beholder. In a letter dated he writes: “The world that I want to show is more than just one uniform thing –as is usual in the art world- my world is manifold and is not restricted by just one style." His whole life he has been fascinated by the account of the Creation as described in the Bible Book of Genesis. “Whether this is true or not is unimportant to me. It is true because I think it is beautiful. It tells us about the animals that were there before us, about the trees, plants and the creation of man.” This narration is crucial in the monumental window piece (The Creation of Man – Male and Female, 2012) and the little house (Paradise, 2012), both erected from painted over, fragile old newspapers...

Light Refraction #7, 2013 by Natasha Zupan Oil, fabric, medium, on canvas Size: 9.5 in. H x 7.5 in. W x 3 in D. Mounted on a stretcher Natasha Zupan beautifully unites the old and new, combining the innovation of her highly crafted technique with her wonder for tradition and the great Masters. This body of work explores the manipulation of surface texture, light, and the interweaving of time. It is not about translating a world that already exists, but about an entrance into a different universe. A timeless, tactile world of sensation and overlapping memory. _______ Born in Georgia (USA), Raised in Europe. Combining Renaissance ideals and concepts with borrowed contemporary media images, Natasha Zupan beautifully unites the old and new in her collage work. Yale-educated and internationally renowned artist, Natasha combines the innovation of her highly crafted technique with her wonder for tradition and inspiration from the great Masters. Her clear, bright brush strokes and play of light and shadow are both rhythmic and youthful. The female figures in her paintings have an undeniable renaissance quality about then but are reborn into our understanding of contemporary aesthetics. Their classical faces become modern nymph-like when combined with symbols of nature and beauty. Each figurative work harbors a unique and intricate personality. Powerfully expressive, they are at once pure, sensual, innocent yet beguiling. An internationally acclaimed figure in the art world, Natasha shows annually throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, including a few exhibitions at the Columbus Museum of Art...

Her commitment to feminism, Judaism, and environmental issues was reflected in much of her work. She exhibited throughout the United States in many galleries and museums, is included in private collections, and received numerous awards. Abstract Expressionist Color Field Painting Indian Artist Sangeeta Reddy
Located in Surfside, FL
Born in 1955, Hyderabad, India, painter and writer Sangeeta Reddy migrated to the United States in 1978 and continued her studies in art. Currently she maintains a studio on Santa Fe Dr. in Denver, Colorado and Hyderabad, India, dividing her time between the two. She has been represented by various galleries in Aspen, Denver, New York, New Delhi, Chennai and now, Hyderabad since the beginning of her 26 year career. Sangeeta has lived and breathed the arts from a very young age – her maternal grandmother was a contemporary of the classical vocalist Kesarbai Kerkar, her grandfather a connoisseur of the arts. Steeped in music, her mother was one of the first disciples of the late Pandit Ravi Shankar. Her late father was a pictorial photographer who co-founded the Hyderabad Photographic Society. Sangeeta chose to follow her own path into the visual and literary arts. With seven years of undergraduate work in fine art in India and the US, and a bachelor’s from Bombay University in English literature and Philosophy, in 1985, Sangeeta’s work has developed into a highly individual style of mixed media abstract expressionistic paintings and monotypes on both canvas and paper. The deconstructed calligraphy and vibrant and nuanced color ever present in her work gives the work the flavor of India in concert with a western restraint. Known primarily for her mixed media collages on paper and canvas, her abstract work was conceived from a challenge to visually parallel Sankara’s idea of Brahman in Advait philosophy and has now evolved into a formal language of deconstructed Devanagari calligraphy. Her artistic influences range widely from Indian weaving and textiles to Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne and Pablo Picasso (who were introduced to her at a very young age by her father’s interest in Western art), to her discovery (while studying in the US) of the Taos School of landscape painters as well as the Abstract expressionist painters, painters, in particular, Mark Rothko and Willem De Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Antoni Tapies and Richard Diebenkorn. After having worked for 28 years in an abstract expressionist manner, her latest series of paintings are based on the rock formations of the Colorado Plateau. She was first Inspired By Abstract Expressionists like Barnett Newman, Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Ray Parker, her style evolved into abstract expressionism and color field painting, Since moving to the US she has become familiar with some of the artistic giants – Georgia O’keeffe, Maynard Dixon, Ernest Blumenschein, Victor Higgins and John Marin, much later of the Group of Seven and of Regionalism. The mountains and plains, canyons and stretches of sky, pinion, sage and cottonwoods. Mostly they were in the form of small plein air works in pastel, charcoal or water color, or drawings from memory or photographs that were more reductive and expressionistic. She has also worked in monotype techniques and in collage.
