Exquisite!!! That’s only one way to define this fabulous vintage coffee table Attributed to Robert Marcius for and by Casa Bique Ltd. Casa Bique’s items are purported to have been manufactured in the same factory as Maitland Smith, so you know it of the highest quality. Just look at the gorgeous curves on this beauty! Let’s start with the classic Ming style chow legs...stunning!! Robert Marcius was born in Greenville, Mississippi and he began designing and producing sculptures, jewelry, and objects d’art when he moved to New Hope, Pennsylvania in 1972. He formed a partnership with Gene Jonson, and they formed “Jonson and Marcius” and moved their business to Manhattan. During this time, he supplied Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, and Bloomingdale's with jewelry and Karl Springer with accessories, furniture, and sculptures. After seeking out Jonson and Marcius in 1975, Lorin Marsh launched their business of an original and unique line of furniture and accessories. Cartier and Tiffany also featured items manufactured by Jonson and Marcius. During the 1980’s Marcius sold his partnership and moved his operations to North Carolina where he designed the product and direction for Casa Bique Ltd. until the early 90’s. For 4 decades he has developed and designed for such clients as Frederick Ramond, Garcia Imports, Casa Stradivari, Thomasville, Lane, Kinder- Harris, The Platt Collections, and many others. Fabulous modern tessellated Mactan stone square end table with a diagonal peach stripe and a round glass top with beveled edge in the style of Maitland Smith. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The wood base holding the side together had gotten wet at some point and puffed causing the corner seams to separate. We have installed a new bottom and pulled those seams together again. Magnificent… Mactan Stone…. And the style of Maitland Smith!!! This is a marvelous square end table comprised of a gorgeous Mactan rough edge stone pedestal base featuring a smooth, polished diagonal peach stripe and a lovely round glass tabletop with a beveled edge in the style of Maitland Smith. So, a fun fact about Mactan stone… It is a sedimentary conglomerate of shale and coral quarried in the Philippines on an island called Opon which is located at the eastern part of the province of Cebu. It’s an island encircled by fascinating beaches and wondrous sights. The original name for these stones was "Coral stones" but that changed as the years passed by. Mactan Stones is Opon's Marvelous Gem. And this end table is DEFINITELY a gem!! Isn’t it GORGEOUS??? Its style is modern and a bit of Art Deco Revival with a Hollywood Regency and Mediterranean feel. Maybe even leaning a bit Postmodern… Either way, this spectacular end table is going to grace your home with its stunning presence whether on the side of a lounge chair in the living room holding a beverage or next to a chair in the sitting room hosting a nice table lamp. A FABULOUS quartet of quintessential Mid-Century Modern magnificence!!! WOW!! This is a set of four vintage dining chairs by Foster-McDavid comprised of gorgeous walnut frames and the original cobalt blue faux Naugahyde leather upholstery on the seats and backs. They have high tapered backs with a wonderfully unusual design as the fabric wraps over the top and extends about a quarter of the way down the walnut back… it’s really a stunning feature! Handsome Mid-Century Modern smaller writing desk by the Robert John Co. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featuring walnut cabinet with white painted steel frame and white laminate top. This is from their Steelwood collection. It desk is in wonderful restored condition. We have sanded and put a new finish on the walnut and the metal frame. The laminate has been cleaned and polished. There are still signs of age but nothing major. Please see photos, circa 1960s.
This wonderful Mid-Century Modern smaller size office desk has been a real puzzle. It has taken much research and I’m still not sure I know about the Robert John Co. from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Their tag says Makers of Contemporary Furniture and that this desk is. When I google them all I come up with is other pieces of furniture being offered that were made by them, but I can’t find any history on the company. And, several listings say the piece was designed by Robert John but made by Knoll. I have not found supporting evidence of that statement! No matter. This is a fabulous desk with a walnut box cabinet containing three equal size drawers that are adorned with cool black and white handles. It is surrounded by a white painted metal frame which accents the walnut wonderfully and a white laminate work surface. This was originally in an architect’s office. I can see why. It has awesome lines and is beautifully designed. This desk is just the right size for a home office. Not as big as an executive desk but a little bigger than a writing desk. Fabulous! Fabulous style! Fabulous size! Fabulous condition! Make it yours.

Lawrence Peabody was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1924. He trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, and he earned a Bachelor of Art degree in 1950 then went on to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1955 he started his own design firm called Lawrence Peabody and Associates in Boston, Massachusetts where his clients included Richardson Brothers, Kohler, Sears & Roebuck, and Boyd Lighting. He assisted in designing several hotels in the United States and the Caribbean. He purchased a home in Haiti in the 1960’s where he and his family would live for six months out of the year. It is where he befriended DeWitt Peters, the founder of Le Centre D'Art, which helped promote interest in Haitian art & craft giving opportunity to hundreds of local artists, many of whom were once impoverished. Mr. Peabody served as Director of Le Centre D’Art. He incorporated Haitian art in his designs and helped bring a collection of one-of-a-kind furniture made by Haitian craftsmen to the United States. Handsome streamline modern, Mid-Century Modern, or Industrial style royal blue & vinyl or faux leather and chrome chaise or daybed with adjustable head or back rest. Wonderful condition keeping in mind that this is vintage & not new so there will be signs of wear & use. The beautiful original royal blue vinyl has some nicks, holes, & dings, specifically on the four corners, which have been repaired. One of the chrome legs has pitting that has been polished & touched up. And there is a small 1/4 “cut” in the main pad area which we felt was better left alone. Some may want to recover but repairs are minor & look great, so it is priced accordingly. Please see photos & zoom in for details. We attempt to portray imperfections. Circa mid-20th-late 20th century.
Note: The vinyl has been treated with lexol and is ready to use. No dust cover as legs are easily removeable for transporting & storage. However, dust cover is an optional add if you prefer.

These pitchers are attributed to the West Virginia Specialty Glass Company's Blendo line of glassware. The West Virginia Specialty Glass Company factory produced the Blendo collection from 1956-1987 with its heyday in the 1960s. It has no pontils but smooth bottoms. It came in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. Ranging from pastels to bolds and brights; and from pitchers and bowls to various sizes, shapes and types of drinking glasses and bowls. Curtis Jere which is not a single artist but is a nom-de-plume for a group of artists working for Artisan House and well known for their phenomenal jewelry, metal sculptures, and collectibles. And this abstract rearing horse is a perfect example of their remarkable pieces!! Excellent set of eight black Torsion dining chairs designed by Giancarlo Piretti for KI. There are seven arm chairs and one side chair. They are in wonderful vintage condition with minor wear that you would expect with age. Please see photos, circa 1995.
In 1997 Giancarlo Piretti received an award for his Torsion seating collection. These chairs are part of that collection. Designed and made initially and primarily for commercial purpose they are extremely comfortable and flexible. They are lightweight and stackable. This set has an attractive textured high impact black plastic seat, back, and arms on chrome legs. No one expects this chair have the comfort it provides. The back flexes. This flex is achieved with the torsion mechanism which creates gradually increasing resistance. They were designed for comfort during long meetings or lectures. But, that makes them perfect for long dinners with lots of conversation. Or, family night with puzzles, cards, and games.
The designer, Giancarlo Piretti, was born in Bologna Italy in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums including MoMA New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with is son, designer Alessandro Piretti.
