You know that “just right” accent table you’ve been looking for? Wouldn’t it be nice if it could go both indoor AND outdoor? Well… HERE IT IS!!! This is a wonderful little Mid-Century Modern accent table by Samsonite comprised of a white steel base featuring flattened square steel tube sides bent into a square with rounded corners, plastic stabilizing feet on the bottom corners, and a round steel tube stretcher between. It features a Werzalit top which is built to withstand the toughest elements such as heat, cigarette smoke, knocks and chemicals and is also harmless in contact with food. It is weatherproof, UV and heat resistant, and environmentally friendly! It has a simple design with spectacular Classic presence, and it is ready to be a new vintage addition to your patio, deck, or porch, in your sunroom, or out on the lanai next to a lounge ready to hold your favorite beverage!! You could certainly use it indoor too! Talk about versatility!! It would be beautiful in any room that needs a fabulous little side or accent table!
Samsonite, best known for their luggage, was founded in Denver in 1910 by Jesse Shwayder. Jesse was born and raised in the late 19th century American West but found himself in his 20s in New York selling luggage for the Seward Trunk and Bag Company. However, he had a dream. A dream of going home along with a dream of owning his own company. He did just that. That company was first named Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company. However, its name was changed in 1965 to Samsonite honoring its best-selling product. Jesse Shwayder named the line as such for its incredible strength which he likened to the Biblical character, Samson. The first 60-70 plus years Samsonite was operated by the Shwayder family and went through many expansions and changes. One of those expansions was into the furniture market. But by the 1970s they were bought out by the Beatrice umbrella. Again, going though many expansions and changes and……cutbacks too and changing hands many times. After all those years, the luggage portion of Samsonite is back in Denver operating from their original location. And the furniture portion is operating as it did from its beginning in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Samsonite Corporation and Samsonite Furniture are now separate companies.
Versatility, Superb Style, and it’s made by Samsonite, so you know it’s of the highest quality!! This vintage accent table checks ALL of the boxes! Don’t wait… make it YOURS!!

View AllPr Chrome & White Cane Square Side Tables Glass Top Mid-Century Modern to Modern
By Milo Baughman
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome pair of square Mid-Century Modern to modern Parsons style side tables or end tables comprised of a rectangular chrome tube frame with a white painted cane and glass insert top. They are in wonderful vintage condition. We have given the cane insert a fresh coat of paint and chrome has normal wear for age but nothing outstanding. Please see photos, circa 1960s-1970s.
When I saw this lovely pair of little side tables I knew I had to have them to offer to you. I know you have just the spot to place them. They are square and Parsons style with frames made of rectangular chrome tube which is nicely welded and polished. They have a white cane and glass insert for the top. I have seen these attributed to Milo Baughman, but I do not believe that to be true. However, they are somewhat in his style with the combination of the chrome and cane. No matter who designed or made this pair they are handsome and handy little end tables. Place them side by side as a small cocktail table or split them up. They are the perfect spot to set a drink while relaxing in your favorite chair or napping sofa...
