Originally produced in the 1970s by Poltronova, the ‘Ultrafragola’ formed part of a series of Sottsass designs named Mobili Grigi. When illuminated, the lights within the mirror transform the white opaline acrylic shell into a stunning multi-pink display. It is unclear who originally made it. Some say Laurel or Stiffel. I believe it was Mutual Sunset Lamp Company but have yet to find documentation.
My only grievance with the original is that the material was not real brass; it was cast aluminum with a brass finish which is prone to wear off...
