Autumn at the Bow Bridge (Limited Edition of 25) - Landscape Photography
Located in New York, NY
This image captured by New York photographer Christopher Petsos in 2014, featuring The Bow Bridge (cast iron bridge), located in Central Park, New York City. The photograph demonstrates the beauty of New York City in the Fall, when the humidity of summer is gone but plenty of days with warm temperatures and blue skies remain to demonstrate a show of colorful foliage, as do the residential side streets and busy squares. Christopher Petsos is a New York City based photographer and artist. He is best known for capturing Light, pattern, texture, color and motion across the urban realm. Christopher Petsos believes that we see things through a filter of the self, a camera records the physical details of a scene, but our human eyes and sub-conscious self are the interpreters that complete our view of reality. In his own words: “Throughout the process, I stay faithful to the underlying truth of the scene. My work inhabits the space between literal depiction and my emotional Impression of the moment. The result is hyper-reality: facts imbued with feeling.” In this image, Christopher Petsos stands true to his words and brilliantly captures the light, pattern, texture, color and motion across the urban realm and painted it in his own colors to give the viewer a new perspective. Limited Numbered Edition of this iconic print on fine art archival pigment paper and signed by Christopher Petsos are available in the sizes below. We ship world-wide and shipping is free. Your choice of one or many artworks will be given the highest standard care and delivery. Limited Edition print orders, due to risk of damage, value and high shipping and insurance costs are not framed. All limited-edition prints are professionally packaged and shipped in sturdy tubes. Animal signed limited edition contemporary fine art print, Bird - Macaw #4
Located in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona
An original signed archival pigment print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta 315 gsm paper by English artist Tim Platt titled ‘ Macaw #4 ‘ Limited edition of 3 Signed by Tim Platt lower right and numbered lower left, delivered with certificates of authenticity, unframed Green-Winged Macaws are monogamous and pair for life. They mate once in a lifetime, remaining and travelling together even out of the breeding season. Their beaks are powerful, allowing them to easily crack hard shelled nuts like the Brazil nut. The beak of the Green-Winged macaw can generate a pressure of 2000 pounds per square inch. Animal photography is about being ready for the split-second moment when it happens. This takes a certain amount of production. The studio set-up, the lighting and the camera settings can all be planned but the magic moment is seldom planned. It just happens naturally and you need to be prepared. Whether you capture it will depend on patience, concentration and reflex. This is an Archival Pigment print on fiber based paper ( Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta 315 gsm , Acid- and lignin-free, Museum quality for highest age resistance and a popular alternative to analogue baryta paper). The inks used are also known for their longevity. Signed + numbered by artist with certificate of authenticity. Please note that prices increase as editions sell. Archival pigment print available sizes ( Image size , the white margin is not counted) : 106 x 69 cm / 41.5 x 27” - Edition of 10 152.4 cm x 101.63 cm / 60 x 39,76 in - Edition of 3 Tim Platt specialises in creating minimal stylised studio portraits of birds and animals, which he describes as beauty shots. A frozen moment in time allows us to observe the world in suspension and will often reveal a graphic beauty that might otherwise flash by in the blink of an eye and remain unnoticed. Whether observing the magnified eye of a bullfrog, or an eagle captured at several thousandths of a second in mid-flight, he is fascinated by the level of detail that can be revealed in a large format print. It is the stillness of a photograph that gives us time to pause and marvel at the myriad levels of detail in Nature’s grand design and allows us to reflect on the wonderful diversity of life on Earth. Located in New York, NY
22" x 17" edition of 7 + 2 AP $1,400 unframed 36" x 24" edition of 7 + 2 AP $2,800 unframed Combining the documentary style of my previous climate project, The Witness Tree, with my earlier narrative fictional approach, I photograph paper cutouts (from appropriated online images) of climate-threatened birds. I place the cutouts within the birds’ current habitats so that they look real, but upon inspection, reveal themselves to be photos within photos—the gaze within the gaze upon nature—as actual birds recede into marginal zones of survival. The images are meant to disrupt the casual gaze, disarming the expectations of nature photography, leaving viewers disturbed and curious. Divergence of Birds (2017-current) A large-scale, long-term, multimedia conceptual project about the threat of species extinction on birds in North America . My current climate project, Divergence of Birds, takes inspiration from two texts: The Audubon Society’s “Birds and Climate Change Report” which projects that, by 2080, climate change will affect the range of habitat of over half of North American birds; and Phillip K. Dick’s 1968 novel, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” where electric versions of once-commonplace animals are so realistic that they fool even veterinarians. Divergence of Birds addresses the prospect that, one day, only simulacra of climate-impacted animals will be left. Combining the documentary style of my previous climate project, The Witness Tree, with my earlier narrative fictional approach, I’m photographing paper cutouts (from appropriated online photos) of the nearly 400 climate-threatened birds. I place the cutouts within the birds’ current habitats so that they look real, but upon inspection, reveal themselves to be photos within photos—the gaze within the gaze upon nature—as actual birds recede into marginal zones of survival. The images disrupt the casual gaze, disarming expectations of nature photography leaving viewers disturbed and questioning. Audiences will then be invited, through interactive workshops, to participate in climate activism. The full project when completed will include over 400 photos representing the climate-threatened birds, video, soundscape, "memento mori" images in vintage photo cases...
