He has participated in the Atlantic Center for the Arts Artists-in-Residence Program. In the fall of 2012, he participated in the group show Caribe Now, at the Nathan Cumming Foundation, which was organized by El Museo del Barrio, New York, NY. Contemporary Pattern and Decoration piece, The original movement was championed by the gallery owner Holly Solomon. The P&D movement wanted to revive an interest in minor forms such as patterning which at that point was equated with triviality. The prevailing negative view of decoration was one not generally shared by non-Western cultures, The Pattern and Decoration movement was influenced by sources outside of what was considered to be fine art. Blurring the line between art and design, many P&D works mimic patterns like those on wallpapers, printed fabrics, and quilts. There is a close connection between the Pattern and Decoration movement and the Feminist art movement. The P&D movement arose in opposition to the Minimalist and Conceptualist movements. Mary Grigoriadis, Valerie Jaudon, Joyce Kozloff, Miriam Schapiro, Robert Zakanitch were early proponents of this style. The artist lives and works in New York City. Paysage rouge #1231
Located in Malmo, SE
Publisher GKM. Edition of 40 ex. Unframed. Carborundum engraving. Moulin de Larroque handmade paper. Free shipment worldwide. “With just a few strokes of his brush he conjures up an entire world. James Coignard extends the boundaries between concrete and abstract. He knows how to create chromatic melodies that shift in timbre from cobalt blue to blood red. His pictures are an artistic epicentre where lines, letters and numbers meld with vigorous swashes of colour.” That is how the writer Johan Persson has described the artist’s paintings. With this exhibition we honour James Coignard, showing some of his last carborundum engravings and paintings as well as presenting the book “L’œuvre gravé de James Coignard” volume VI. In this edition, we have gathered together all the engravings that James Coignard produced between June 2005 and his decease, on 7 March 2008. Behind him he left many fond memories and a life’s work as a great artist. James Coignard’s principal modes of expression were oil on canvas and gravure au carborundum, but also in bronze and glass sculptures as well as in ceramics. His work has been shown on more than 400 exhibitions, primarily in Central Europe and Scandinavia, but also in Canada and the USA. His first Swedish exhibition was at Malmö Museum in 1956. The early 1970s saw the start of a long-term liaison with Galleri Östermalm in Stockholm, owned by Editions Sonet. They came to represent him in Scandinavia and edited several volumes of his graphic works. It was not until 2003 that we at Galleri GKM Siwert Bergström...

Abstrait Gris - Lithograph by Marcel Fiorini - Late 20th Century
Located in Roma, IT
Abstrait Gris is an original color lithograph on paper, realized by the artist Marcel Fiorini (1922-2008). Signed in pencil on the lower right margin, this is a print proof from an edition of 120 copies. Beautiful specimen, with bright colors, numbered in pencil and in Arabic numerals on lower left margin. In excellent condition, this is a wonderful contemporary abstract artwork, with some signs of the time like light folds on lower left margin, beyond the marginal line of the matrix. This defect does not affect the image. A poetic contemporary artwork has not to be missing in your collection! Marcel Fiorini (Guelma, Algeria 1922 - Bois-le-Roi, 2008) The French painter and engraver, born in Algeria of an emigrant Italian family, suffered the innovative influences of painting promoted by Italian Fascism...

Untitled Composition - Original Etching by Cesare Peverelli - 1973
Located in Roma, IT
Image dimensions: 23.7 x 17.7 cm Untitled composition is an amazing original black and white etching on paper, realized by the Italian artist Cesare Peverelli (Milan, 1922-Paris, 2000) and printed in 1973 by La Nuova Foglio, a publishing house of Macerata, as the dry-stamp reports on the lower right corner. Hand-signed and numbered in pencil and in Arabic numerals on lower margin. From an edition of 100 prints. This is really beautiful artwork, on halfway between Surrealism and the Informal, two types of research practiced by the artist, obtaining excellent and charming results. in excellent conditions. Cesare Peverelli (Milan, 1922 - Paris, 2000) Cesare Peverelli began his artistic career in 1939 when he attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and was a pupil of Achille Funi and Carlo Carrà. Through Ennio Morlotti he came into contact with the Corrente group, preferring however to the chromatic lighting of the neo-cubism the tonalism of Giorgio Morandi. He tied himself to the Argine Numero magazine and was in 1946 among the signatories of the Oltre Guernica poster. In 1947, at the Italian art exhibition today. Turin Prize, he won the Grosso Award, met Cesare Pavese and began to collaborate with the Einaudi publishing house, and produced the cover of La nausea by Jean Paul Sartre (1948). In search of an engagé painting not dominated by ideologies, he was one of the founders in 1946 of the Numero Pittura magazine and with Roberto Crippa he opened the Painting gallery, where in 1949 he held a solo show accompanied by a poem by Aimé Césaire...
