Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol (Sunday B. Morning) Marilyn 11:25

About the Item

Sunday B. Morning (Andy Warhol) Marilyn 11:25 Silkscreen print from photo negatives of original Factory Additions stencil on museum quality board. Printed with the highest quality archival inks 91 x 91 cm 36 x 36 in Andy Warhol lithograph by Sunday B Morning from the famous Marilyn series, number 11.25 printed on museum board paper. Stamped on the back in blue "Fill in your own Signature, Sunday B Morning" With a certificate of Authenticity. Andy Warhol published his famous “Factory Editions” of Marilyn, Flowers and Campbell’s Soup Cans, he began collaborating with two anonymous friends from Belgium in 1970 on a second series of prints. The original idea behind this partnership for Warhol was to play on the concept of mass production. Andy loved to comment on this phenomenon through his art. The new prints were exacting in detail to the Factory Editions and so Warhol was essentially mocking the idea that the Factory Edition prints were somehow more important than these new prints. There are many publishers are out there who have tried to reproduce these impressions, but none come close to the integrity of a Sunday B. Morning. This is because only Sunday B. Morning possesses the photo negatives needed to create silkscreens exactly like the ones Andy Warhol used for his Factory Editions. Their work looked exactly like the Factory Editions…and why wouldn’t they? These prints were created with exactly the same tools and methods Andy Warhol himself had used for the original Factory Editions. Andy Warhol himself gave two Belgians the tools to create Sunday B. Morning

  • Heliotherapy Love
    By Robert Indiana
    Located in Hollywood, FL
Artist: Robert Indiana Title: Heliotherapy Love Medium: Screenprint on Lenox Museum Board Size: 39 x 39" Framed Size: 41 x 41" Edition: 258 of 300 Year: 1995 Notes: Signed and dated in pencil "R Indiana '95" lower right; numbered in pencil lower left; stamped on the verso in back ink: "PRINTED AT BRAND X EDITIONS". Published by Donald J. Christal, Los Angeles, CA. Artwork shows no apparent condition issues. Custom framed in black, gallery frame. Robert Indiana (1928-2018) was a pre-eminent figure of American Pop art best known for his masterpiece, the iconic "LOVE". Indiana's signature style was influenced by Pop Art and Hard-Edged painting. His oeuvre consists of bold, simple subjects including numbers, symbols, or capitalized short words (i.e. EAT, HUG, LOVE) executed in vivid primary colors. Inspired by the mythology of the American dream, Indiana engaged with everyday objects, words, symbols, and commercial graphic designs (like logos) and quickly became associated with the Pop Art movement. Indiana's first solo show took place in 1962 at the Stable Gallery in New York, the same gallery that hosted Andy Warhol's first solo show. Indiana's most iconic creation is "LOVE". It consists of four capitalized letters in a bold Didone font. The letter "O" is slanted sideways transforming its oblong, negative center space into a shape directing the eye towards the "V". "LOVE" marked Indiana's return to both single-word text art and the use of a quartered, structured canvas after several years of focusing on circular compositions. As for the origins of the work, Indiana was inspired by the green and red of the Phillips 66...
