Timothy Corrigan has a decades-long love affair with France, where he has a second home, and he channeled his Francophilia into this newly constructed Beaux Arts-style Chicago high-rise.
His client, an art collector, wanted a relaxed setting for works on paper by Frank Stella. Corrigan obliged with a symmetrical clustering of custom seating and an unusual hanging arrangement to spotlight the art.
Enriching the balanced composition, overseen by a Paul Ferrante chandelier, is an antique Khorassan rug from Mansour. In Corrigan’s words, “It really is the intentional mix of somewhat incongruous styles and elements that makes the whole thing work.”
