Antique 27.34 Carat Quartz 15k Yellow Gold and Glass Vinaigrette Circa 1820
Located in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne
An exceptional, fine and impressive antique 1820s 27.34 carat quartz, 15 karat yellow gold and glass vinaigrette; an addition to our collection of silver boxes and cases This exceptional, fine and impressive antique 15k yellow gold vinaigrette has an oval form. The glass vessel is fitted with a plain gold mount to the rim, ornamented with pin struck decoration. The upper plateau of the cover is ornamented with an impressive 27.34ct cabochon cut colorless quartz. The sides of the cover are embellished with further pin struck decoration, incorporating a plain rounded thumbpiece to the anterior surface. The hinged cover opens to allow access to the original, hinged pierced decorated grille. The impressive antique glass box is ornamented with compressive hobnail style decoration. This vinaigrette box has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 15 karat gold. The gold and glass vinaigrette box is supplied with an independent gemstone grading report card. Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases the feature quartz. Condition This 19th century antique gold box is a very good gauge of gold, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. There are no hallmarks as to be expected with such a piece; the date and origin can be determined by the composition and decoration. Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this antique gold vinaigrette...
