Meissen Gorgeous Figurine Group created by Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775): so-said ‘The Lucky Family’, i.e. Meissen Figurine group of Noble Family: A noble couple with child. Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark (bottom not glazed) First quality Dating: Middle of 19th century or made circa 1850 Material: Porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: Handmade porcelain Style: Rococo It is model 604, but model number isn't visible here. Meissen Porcelain groups with female figurines wearing crinolines refer to courtly life of Baroque as well as of Rococo period. Johann Joachim Kaendler had been inspired by etchings based on paintings (oil on canvas) by artists such as Antoine Watteau (1684–1721) and Nicolas Lancret (1690–1743). Kaendler created model 604 in year 1744: He is the most famous modeller Meissen manufactory ever had and created well-known series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer), Gallant Figurines, Asian Figurines etc. Additionally, Kaendler made, too, excellent models of animal figurines as well as of stunningly decorated vases. Specifications: The Figurine Group is worked in most skilful manner: -- This loving couple is of superb appearance ! The man seizes his lovely child's left hand while he is going to kiss his female companion who has sat down on a Rococo stool: The noble lady clad in stunning & most elegant crinoline holds the child which she has taken on her lap. - All figurines are clad in most elegant Rococo garments which were worn in 18th century only by members of noble families.
