Meissen very interesting figurines' group: The Legacy Hunter or Ancient Love The details are stunningly scupltured = finest modelling Manufactory: Meissen Dating: made circa 1870 Hallmarked: Meissen Mark with Pommels on Hilts (19th century) First quality model number A 46 / former's number 40 / painter's number 1 Material: multicolored porcelain, partially golden painted, glossy finish Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Design: Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775) Since 1731 sculptor at Meissen manufactory, he is one of the best modellers Meissen manufactory ever had. Kaendler designed the group 'Ancient Love / The Legacy Hunter' circa 1765.   First quality Specifications: An old woman having sat down on an upholstered Rococo chair is courted / wooed by a gallant man who kisses back of her right hand. Next to man's feet there is a little satyr with a gnome's features visible: It holds some documents in both hands - these paper sheets have been drawn of a half-open casket being visible on earth. A small money box is visible on woman's lap. The figurines are excellently coloured in various shades. The details - look for example at the figurine's characteristic features, please, - are excellently modelled: These facts indicate the highest quality of work here. The figurines are based on flat support depicting earthy-rocky ground.
