Meissen lovely figurines of stunning appearance: Cherubs presented as allegory of spring (= seasons' group of figurines) Model 2502 Measures: height 6.89 inches (17.5 cm) width 6.69 inches (17.0 cm) depth 5.04 inches (12.8 cm) Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark with Pommels on Hilts of 19th century (glazed bottom). model number 2502 / former's number 143 / painter's number 61 First quality  Dating: 19th century / made circa 1870 Material: porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Modelled by: Johann Joachim Kaendler (born in 1706 near Dresden / Germany - died 1775 in Meissen) & assistants. Model 2502 created circa 1757. Kaendler was chief sculptor at Meissen manufactory as from 1742 until the year 1775. He is the most famous modeller Meissen manufactory ever had and created well-known series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer), Gallant Figurines, Asian Figurines etc. Subject: A figurines' group of four male cherubs is presented here: A figurine has taken place on a pedestal in middle area around which three cherubs have gathered together. The cherub on pedestal holds up a wreath of flowers' blossoms, the other ones seize garlands of flowers' blossoms. Additionally, a basket with flowers having been put on ground is visible, too. Flowers are Symbol of Spring so that this figurine group is an Allegory of Spring. Condition: there aren't any damages existing = excellent condition (referring to all details, i.e. flower's blossoms, the cherubs' features etc.) / a very few leaves' & flowers' petals were excellently restored (= not visible with naked eye).
