Japanese Asian Signed Glazed Pottery Ceramic Folk Art Wabi-Sabi Yunomi Teacup
Located in Studio City, CA
A beautiful Japanese yunomi teacup featuring a subtle blue-green crackle glaze. The work radiates in the light. This little gem (along with others we will be listing) came from a collector of fine Japanese and Asian ceramics - a collection like no other we have seen before. The yunomi teacup has a somewhat Wabi-Sabi feel and appearance to it. Appears to be signed by the maker/artist on the base. Fu Guoshun was born at Hebei in 1954. He was complimented as a Master of Chinese arts and crafts in 2012. It is the highest honor for an inside painting artist. There are only ten artists who earned this glory. He is also the director of China International Painting and Calligraphy Association, vice chairman of China Snuff Bottle Professional Committee, and vice-chairman of Hebei Inside painted snuff bottle Association. Since 1977, he has been studying the art of inside painting under Wang Xisan. Fu Guoshun is one of the best artists in Ji school. Mr Fu Guoshun's inside paintings are exquisite. His works include landscapes, figures, animals, flowers, and birds to calligraphy with comprehensive skills. In addition, his professions are known for their elegance, flexibility, and light. With the three superb skills of poetry, calligraphy, and painting, there are only a handful of artists who can match up in the field of snuff bottles. It is difficult to find other artists who could compare his paintings from an artistic perspective when it comes to inside painted snuff bottles...

Vintage Batik Fabric Painting Tribal Folk Wall Art
Located in Barrington, IL
Vintage Asian Batik hand painted fabric art. The beautiful batik is a panoramic depiction of riders in chariots and on horseback set on an indigo color fabric with designs in ivory. The batik is a wonderful example of a hand painted wall art. Batik is one of many methodologies of fabric art in a long and rich folk textile tradition around the world. It is a wax-resist type of dyeing operation where certain sections of a textile are pigmented while others are tied-off and shielded from coloring. Batik designs are created in various geometric motifs that have certain symbolism and convey status within society, but now too they use batik methods to achieve what in essence are paintings on fabric. Dimensions: 15” x 78” Date of Manufacture: 3rd Quarter of the 1900s Place of Origin: Yunnan, China Material: Textile Condition: Wear consistent with age and use The Persian Knot, SKU: 2263 Vintage Batik Painting...
