Arnold Schwarzenegger, Signed Limited Edition Book with Capitello Bookstand
By Dian Hanson, TASCHEN, Studio 65, Gufram Furniture
Located in Los Angeles, CA
He’s a four-time Mr. Universe, seven-time Mr. Olympia. His films have grossed four billion dollars worldwide. He won the California governor’s race by a landslide. He has one of the most recognizable faces in the world, an oft-imitated accent, and a physique still heralded as the most perfect ever built. He’s Arnold, the one and only, with first name recognition worldwide, and now with a two-volume edition equal to his impressive size and unabashed ego. A decade of collaboration in the making, this photo tribute covers 75 years of Schwarzenegger, from the future Terminator’s impoverished childhood in Thal, Austria, to his rise as a young athlete, his journey to America to become the most celebrated bodybuilder of all time, to his career as the world’s leading action film star, then into the California governor’s mansion and beyond. Along the journey, Arnold’s muscular body, chiseled features, and charismatic personality made him a favorite subject of photographers, including Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Herb Ritts, Francesco Scavullo, and Andy Warhol. The big book includes them all, while the smaller companion volume gives you more intimate bodybuilding images, behind-the-scenes film stills, dozens of photos from Arnold’s personal archive, and exclusive interviews with Arnold and those who know him best, including directors Ivan Reitman and Bob Rafelson, and bodybuilding legends Franco Columbu, Dave Draper, and Frank Zane. The Capitello edition comes with a unique book stand – a 1:2 scale reproduction of the iconic Capitello chair...

Marvel Comics Library, X-Men Vol. 1. 1963–1966, Limited Collector's Edition
By TASCHEN
Located in Los Angeles, CA
The Strangest Super-Heroes of All. The foundation of a pop-culture phenomenon. When Marvel publisher Martin Goodman asked Stan Lee to deliver another new team book for his line of comics, he had no idea he’d be getting something like The X-Men. In fact, nobody could have imagined the extraordinary phenomenon the X-Men would eventually grow into—not Goodman, not Lee, not even the forward-thinking futurist Jack Kirby. What they started out as was a charming, ragtag team of misfits, devised by Lee and Kirby to be mutants—youngsters born with “X-tra” powers thrust upon them not by accidentally crossing paths with cosmic rays or a nuclear blast, but by the fate of birth—led by a no-nonsense professor who trained them to become heroes that could protect the world from menaces, mutant and otherwise. The first years of storytelling laid the foundation for much of what has put the X-Men at the crossroads of comics and popular culture: Hounded by a public that fears and misunderstands them, mutantkind find themselves at the heart of their own civil rights struggle; Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast, and Iceman found safety amongst themselves despite the challenges that set them apart from others in society; and Professor Xavier lined up against his ideological foe, Magneto, who had assembled a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to take the fight for their self-preservation directly to humankind. Along the way, Lee and Kirby—who were on fire taking comics into the Marvel Age—introduced a menagerie of villains and supporting characters that would become mainstays of Marvel and its lore: the super-powered siblings Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch; the formidable Blob; the unstoppable Juggernaut; the jungle dweller from the Savage Land, Ka-Zar; the demigod from the stars, the Stranger; and Bolivar Trask and his army of mutant-hunting Sentinels. And as Lee and Kirby gave way to new talents so they could move on to new corners of the Marvel Universe, Atlas era art veteran Werner Roth teamed with writing newcomer and future X-Men legend Roy Thomas...

Yoshihiro Narisawa, Satoyama Cuisine. Gastronomy & Culinary Photography Book
By TASCHEN
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Sustainable Gastronomy Yoshihiro Narisawa’s manifesto on cuisine in harmony with the natural world Award-winning Japanese chef Yoshihiro Narisawa has turned to his homeland and nature to develop his innovative satoyama cuisine and culinary philosophy. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of foraging for ingredients on the land between mountains and villages, the area of satoyama, and by similar traditional methods for gathering food, Narisawa has created recipes and dining experiences based on the sustainable use of native ingredients. Also using foodstuffs from coastal waters and forests, from seaweed and sea snakes to wild flowers and even soil, the recipes are presented and shown in stunning photographs by world-renowned Brazilian food photographer Sergio Coimbra. But this is more than a book of recipes, it is a new kind of gastronomy book that explores the background of where the ingredients are sourced and also how the chef works with the craftsmen who makes his knives and tableware. This attention to every stage of the supply chain is another aspect of satoyama, and in the course of the journeys Narisawa and Coimbra made the book has also become a visual travel guide to Japan and its history and traditions. In this way it is not just the chef’s creations that are presented, but the food in its full context, including the processes involved, and a culinary perspective that combines tradition with modern ideas. Collector’s Edition of 1,000 copies, each signed by Yoshihiro Narisawa and Sergio Coimbra. The Artist: Yoshihiro Narisawa, born in Aichi prefecture in 1969 as the son of a baker of western recipes, moved to Europe at the age of 19 where he trained in France, Switzerland, and Italy, before returning to his homeland. Narisawa opened his first restaurant in Kanagawa in 1996, moving to Tokyo in 2003. After pursuing a connection with French cuisine, Narisawa went on to develop his “Satoyama” style. His restaurant has been listed for many years as one of the World’s 50 Best...

New Classic Interiors by Alessandra Branca Hardcover Coffee Table Book
By Alessandra Branca
Located in North Hollywood, CA
New Classic Interiors by Alessandra Branca hardcover coffee table book in Box Sleeve. Abrams, Dec 15, 2018 - Architecture - 272 pages. For Alessandra Branca, living means living comfortably. Growing up in Rome, Branca was always surrounded by exquisite art and architecture. She learned early on that beauty is meant to intermingle with everyday life, and to this day her interior designs, while abiding by classical principles, comfortably accommodate her clients’ lifestyles. “You can’t just do something that looks pretty,†? she says. “It has to work.†? In this book, the designer—based in Chicago—generously reveals her step-by-step creative process, offering invaluable guidance to anyone who wants a home that is both gorgeous and livable. Beginning with her own Chicago townhouse and interweaving insights drawn from several other prominent projects, she shows how she assesses each space’s form and function, selects foundation elements, chooses furniture and lighting, and, finally, incorporates decorative elements that reflect the resident’s personality. Illustrated with 200 lush photographs, the book offers a welcomes introduction to Branca’s enchanting and livable interiors. Great book for inspiring rooms, very knowledgeable and Alessandra Branca gives a wealth of information when it comes to decorating your spaces. Ms. Branca teaches you how she decorates for her clients!! This book is a must for someone who likes to decorate their own spaces.Alessandra Branca is an extremely talented designer. Dressmaking type details abound in the photographs in this book. She is just a cut above many designers out there. New Classic Interiors starts off in Rome (her birthplace), then on to Chicago, and New York. There are great photos of projects and diagrams. The text is interesting and you will learn why certain things were created the way they were, her opinions on lighting, and general design information that make her rooms just a cut above other designs. If I had to be critical at all, it would be the use of red. This use to be one of my favorite home and clothing colors, but now blue reigns. Alessandra is heavily invested in the color red, and uses it magnificently! As a passionate collector of interior design books...

Located in Los Angeles, CA
Perfectly intimate. The infinite subtlety of the female form. Collector’s edition limited to 1,000 numbered copies, each signed by the artist. Dioscorides of Cibo and Mattioli - One-Time Only Limited-Edition Facsimile
Located in BARCELONA, ES
This is a one-time only facsimile edition limited to 987 copies of the Dioscorides of Cibo and Mattioli made during the 16th century. We created it by combining the highest technology with the mastery of the bookbinders who have handmade its binding by hand using only 100% full grain naturally tanned leather. In this remarkable codex, the artistic genius and botanist Gherardo Cibo (1512-1600) compiled a selection of medical and botanical texts from the Discorsi by the famous physician of Siena Pietro Andrea Mattioli (1501-1577), and illustrated them with more than 160 remarkable pictures of plants and landscapes that rank amongst the most beautiful of the Renaissance. Discorsi is Mattioli’s Italian translation of Dioscorides’ De Materia Medica (1st century AD) with the addition of lengthy commentaries based on his personal experience and on popular and learned medicine. Gherardo Cibo was an avid reader and admirer of this book by Mattioli. He copied entire passages in neat script, adding his own comments, anecdotes and legends and, more importantly, illustrated them with delicate and lifelike botanical images...
