Set of Four Bentwood Upholstered Armchairs by Bill Stephens for Knoll

About the Item

This incredible armchair set, model 1305-U, is the works of the legendary mid-century artist: William 'Bill' Stephens, the young Knoll designer whose 1300 series of chairs took off after its inception in 1967 as a commission for the Yale School of Architecture and is featured as part of the permanent display at the Knoll Museum, East Greenville, Pennsylvania. Stephens took the standard armchair and elevated it with keen grace. The simple scoop shape of the chair and the corner-less legs work seamlessly to create this organic modern form. Features gorgeous bentwood frames updated with a natural color stain, paired with black naugahyde upholstery. Marked to underside of one frame. These chairs are beautiful and comfortable and work well for dining or professional office use. Customize: These chairs can be re-imagined in zebra hide as featured in Architectural Digest or customized to your liking, we do offer in-house professional upholstery and refinishing services, inquire for details.
