Finn Juhl Spade Chairs

About the Item

A pair of Finn Juhl "Spade" Chairs, 1954 for France & Søn, Denmark made in the 1950’s with the original leather cushions and teak. An outstanding early pair of Finn Juhl’s iconic "Spade" chairs, designed in 1954 and produced by France & Søn. These masterfully crafted chairs embody the essence of Danish modernism, showcasing Juhl’s signature organic forms and sculptural elegance. The solid teak frames feature graceful, curved armrests and refined proportions, exuding both sophistication and comfort. Retaining their original black leather upholstery with brass vents, these chairs display a rich patina that enhances their authenticity and timeless appeal. The slim elegance of the frames and cushions somehow exude a visual lightness while reflecting Juhl’s deep understanding of form and function. A rare and highly collectible set, these chairs exemplify mid-century craftsmanship at its finest.
