About the Item

Ole Wanscher - Princess Armchair, 1958 The Model J2883 designed by master-designer Ole Wanscher in 1958, acquired its nickname thanks to a Danish princess who purchased the chair during a visit to the Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in Copenhagen. It was produced by one of Denmark's finest cabinetmakers: A.J. Iversen in sumptuous, exotically grained rosewood. The original, patinated black leather seat remains in tact and the frame has been carefully restored and refinished in Danish oil. The model was first presented at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild exhibition in 1958. This is a rarely seen and highly collectible piece of iconic Danish design. Literature: Grete Jalk: "40 Years of Danish Furniture Design". Vol. 4, p. 57 H 79cm / D 56m / W 64cm
