Prototype Pierre Paulin Blub Lounge Chair, Artifort, 1971

About the Item

Pierre Paulin prototype Blub lounge chair, Artifort 1971. Rare opportunity to own a one of a kind Pierre Paulin lounge chair. The chair has a fiberglass base and a plywood frame upholsterd with foam and wool. We purchased this armchair In Maastricht together with a P.Paulin ABCD 3 seater sofa and rare P.Paulin 315 armchair from a collector and formal worker at Artifort, Jos candle. We bought it directly from the 1st owner (Jos candel) who worked half his life for Artifort. There was a showroom basement in the Artifort factory where he bought it in 1971. He bought it directly from the Artifort manager at that time Mr.Dentener. Mr.Dentener told him it was a prototype designed by Pierre Paulin. It does very much look like the scarce paulin single blub chair. All sizes and material are exactly the same (see pictures next to the single blub chair) Also the rifling that the blub chair has is existing in the prototype. The prototype chair is hand marked with Pro (prototype) It has the original brown woolen fabric and kept original as purchased. Back in the days it was common to sell prototypes from the artifort sale basement.
