George Nakashima (Maker)
As with all of "Japanese Shaker" Nakashima's work, the craftsmanship carries on a brisk dialog with the design: through-tenons secured by wedges of different-colored wood, hand-shaved spindles made of hickory, and of course the single large slab arm, with Nakashima's signature "free-edge." All such details are a delight to both the eye and hand. Beauty and comfort are reconciled!
