About the Item

The famous coffee chair designed by Michael Thonet in 1859 is still considered the world's most successful industrial product. It marks the beginning of the history of modern furniture. Its production was based on a completely new technique for the time: solid wood bending. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of its design in 2009, a version was created featuring a knot on the right front leg, symbolizing the immortality of this design piece. The frame is made of curved solid wood, while the seat is made of guinea cane.
