He is currently a full professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Mexico City, where he is a Distinguished Professor. He is the founder and curator of the Artis Gallery, of the Metropolitan Autonomous University, Mexico City. Among his most outstanding students are Jorge Carol, Nelson Domínguez, Roberto Fabelo, Erique Martínez, Manuel Monroy, Pedro Pablo Oliva, Tomás Sánchez, among others.

Ernst Fuchs was born on February 13, 1930 in Vienna Ottakring as the only child of Maximilian and Leopoldine Fuchs; his father was of Jewish descent, which is why his grandfather and father emigrated to the USA and Shanghai in 1938 after the annexation of Austria by the Third Reich. To protect little Ernst from anti-Semitic hostility, it was decided to baptize him according to the Roman Catholic rite in 1942. The 12-year-old Ernst Fuchs was allowed to choose his own baptismal name and chose Ernst Peter Paul, in honor of the painter Peter Paul Rubens, whom he admired at the time. Around the same time, his godmother's brother, the painter and restorer Alois Schiemann, taught him the basics of drawing and painting. Until the age of 15, he attended the St. Anna painting school in Vienna, where he was taught sculpture and painting by Emmy Steinböck and Fritz Fröhlich.
After the war, Ernst Fuchs was finally able to take up his longed-for studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, which he had previously been denied for racist reasons. His teachers were first Robin Andersen, then Albert Paris Gütersloh. While still a student, he was allowed to hold his first solo exhibition in Paris in 1949, and soon afterwards, in 1950, he also moved to the French capital. Ernst Fuchst traveled through Europe and the USA for six years before taking an extended stay at the Dormition Monastery on Mount Zion in Israel in 1957 to study icon painting in depth. He finally returned to Vienna in 1962, where he founded the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism with former fellow students, of which he himself was to become the most important representative. The early years in particular were characterized by a strong surrealism; mythical and religious symbols in particular appealed to Ernst Fuchs and permeated his work. Later, Fuchs turned increasingly to Mannerism.
Ernst Fuchs' artistic spectrum broadened over the years: he sang and recorded various albums, which, like the majority of his paintings, were inspired by mystical motifs, and he designed stage sets for such famous operas as Wagner's Parsifal and Lohengrin or Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. The encroaching sea eventually got so close that the lighthouse had to go. Rather than simply let it fall into the sea, in July 2020 the entire building began to be carefully dismantled so as not to have any impact on the surrounding sensitive environment. The Orford Ness Lighthouse Trust plan at that time was to remove the lantern room as well as other original features and artefacts with a view to one day creating a lighthouse memorial of some sort on the other side of the Ness, facing Orford town’s quay.

ORFORD NESS
Orford Ness is an internationally important site for nature conservation and a designated National Nature Reserve. It is a rare and delicate landscape, consisting of shingle ridges and valleys, deposited over centuries by the sea. 20% of Europe's vegetated shingle is found on Orford Ness.
Once a former World War One and World War Two Airfield, the land is now a rich grazing marsh, providing home to birds, deer and rare-breed sheep. It is one of the few sites in the UK with purpose-built facilities for the testing of components of nuclear weapons. Comprising of six 'labs', which now form impressive backdrops on the shingle and the Black Beacon erected in 1928 to house an experimental rotating-loop navigation beacon.
GLYNN THOMAS
Glynn Thomas was born in Cambridge 1946. He studied at the Cambridge School of Art 1962-67, specialising in illustration and printmaking; taught printmaking at the Ipswich School of Art 1967-79, and is now a full-time artist living in Suffolk.
He has illustrated a number of books. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and at the Society’s 1983 annual exhibition his etching ‘Honfleur’, was awarded the Davys’ prize for the best print. In addition, his work has been included in the Houses of Parliament art collection. One man exhibitions include the Dominion Centre Toronto, the John Russell Gallery, Ipswich, Printworks and the Minories, Colchester, the New Ashgate Gallery Farnham, the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, the Lyric Hammersmith, and the Barbican Centre London. A set of three prints by influential American artist Elaine Sturtevant, studying circular motion and riffing/ripping (depending on your views on copyright) off the works of Robert Rauschenberg, Marcel Duchamp and Alexander Calder. Labelled and Each signed 'Sturtevant' and from an edition of 60.
Sturtevant was born in Lakewood, Ohio (USA) and spent the first years of her artistic life working in New York - where in 1956, she began to manually reproduce paintings and objects created by her contemporaries with results that cannot immediately be identified from an original.
Sturtevant intentionally turns the concept of originality on its head... All of her works are copies of the works of other artists; none is an original. She initially focused on works by such American artists as Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Jasper Johns, and Andy Warhol. In the late 1960s, she concentrated on replicating works by Joseph Beuys and Duchamp. Since the early 1980s, she has focused on the next generation of artists, including Robert Gober, Anselm Kiefer, Paul McCarthy, and Felix Gonzalez-Torres.
She masters painting, sculpture, photography and film in order to produce a full range of copies of her chosen artist's work. In most cases, her decision to start copying an artist happened before those artists achieved broader recognition. Nearly all of the artists she chose to copy are today considered iconic for their time or style. This has given rise to discussions amongst art critics on how it has been possible for Sturtevant to identify these now famous artists at such an early stage.

Georg Karl Pfahler is considered the only important representative of the Hard Edge in Germany; he was a guest at the Biennales in Venice and São Paolo, taught in Nuremberg and Salzburg and was awarded numerous prizes.
Georg Karl Pfahler was born on October 8, 1926 in Emetzheim, Bavaria. He spent his childhood and youth on his parents' farm, far away from any art. Nevertheless, he loved painting and drawing from an early age and cultivated it intensively as a childhood pastime. However, Georg Karl Pfahler only received the impetus to study art in 1948 when he met students from the Nuremberg Art Academy and accepted their invitation. His parents, good but simple country folk, had no interest in their son's newly awakened passion, and the young man was also met with incomprehension in his home village. However, Georg Karl Pfahler did not let this put him off, but attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg for two years, where he came into contact with original art for the first time and became acquainted with the works of Marc Chagall and Paul Klee.
